I'm not sure whether it's refreshing or disappointing to know that America isn't the only country that feels inclined to legislate common sense.

whether it makes sense or not its just a cell phone i dont understand why they feel the need to set a law to prohibit young children from possessing a cell phone...if theyre going to do that they might at well set a law to prohibit young children from owning a gaming console or computer. and dont get me wrong i have to talk parents into NOT getting their 10 yr a blackberry on a daily basis. i just dont think they need to put a law in place just because some parents cant say no to their bratty ass kids or lack common sense.

Yea I don't see the harm either. If people are dumb enough to spend that kind of money on something like that it should be their choice. For the people who actually don't abuse it or use it correctly this is deffinately not fair to them.

It just goes to show that parents aren't responsible anymore. I had to wait until 8th grade year to get a phone, then had to wait until 10th grade year to get my second and third phones, respectively. Kids under 13 shouldn't even have a cell phone in the first place.

i agree for the most part but some kids who play sports should really have a cellphone or atleast a prepaid one

I never owned a cell phone until I was 12, and it was a prepaid one. I see too many kids with cell phones now a days, and it is very unnecessary.

Agreed, I had to wait till I was 15 and I swear my father punished me with a Nextel. I couldnt even use the phone half the time and have to travel 5 miles down the road to just start getting signal. That was more a punishment then a blessing.
