Foxconn planning new iPhone factory, will it be building a CDMA version?
According to the Xinhua news agency, contract manufacturer Foxconn is expanding by building another iPhone factory. Construction is expected to start later this month and the building will end up housing the more than 500 workers who are building iPhones on a rented assembly line. The reason for the seemingly sudden announcement has to do with the incredibly hot start that the iPhone 4 has had. Even without ending its exclusivity accord with AT&T, this version of the iPhone is on the way to setting sales records, despite the "death-grip" and "Antennagate".

A long time rumor that we reported on starting in February and last touched on in June, is back in  play now, as this month contract manufacturer Pegatron is supposedly building a CDMA version of Apple's touchscreen device for Verizon, Sprint, China Telecom and other CDMA flavored carriers. An expected T-Mobile model could develop with a second GSM version.

When I see a cdma version then I'll believe it, until that happens, I'm kinda tired of the rumors.

I would assume this would be an LTE factory... possibly with the hybrid chips... Qualcomm makes a chipset that has all global bands in one CDMA2000/GSM/UMTS/EVDO/LTE/WiMAX... All of them. So if apple were to purchase these chips they could make ONE model iPhone and put it anywhere in the World, but we will see. I am an Apple Hater so I don't care, but there are many that do. Windows 7 Phones are what I am looking for.

I'm afraid Microsoft may have missed the boat on smartphones. They do have a lot of money to throw around but Android is ahead in the game and they have the wind to their back. Apple and Blackberry will settle into their niche over the next few years. I get irritated by all the Microsoft haters who think Microsoft can't do anything right. +/-90% of the computer in America are Window's Operating system and probably 95% or more of business computer networks are Windows Operating System. Yeah Microsoft has really been f*ck1ng up lately but you don't get where they are by being incompetent. I think Microsoft's problem is more complacency than incompetance.

I hope it does go to all carriers then people will see Android is just as good and you can choose what brand phone maker you want (ie. Motorola, Samsong, Sony, HTC). IPhone is a cool device but there are allot to choose from that can do the exact same thing.
