Fox News reporter: A7 processor for the Apple iPhone 5S is 31% faster than the A6 chip

0. phoneArena 25 Aug 2013, 21:50 posted on

A Fox News reporter named Clayton Morris claims that inside sources told him that the Apple iPhone 5S will be powered by an Apple designed A7 SoC that is 31% faster than the current A6 chip used on the Apple iPhone 5; the actual benchmarking test used was unknown and also not revealed was whether the 31% increase relates to the CPU or GPU since both are included on the SoC...

Web traffic. You know it.
They rather post iPhone articles instead of posting interesting articles.

To get iPhone fans riled up because they think 31% is too low, and to get Android fans rile up because they think 31% is too high.

The GPU is the special sauce I want to know about. Benchmarks mean nothing.

31% is quite sad actually especially considering iOS 7 is going to be 31% heavier of a skin than IOS 6.

IOS 7 has pretty much killed any performance gain that it would of had.

Another way to think of the new SoC is that it was an absolute requirement to avoid the perception of the 5S being slower than the 5....

From the all the videos online, it seems the later beta versions of iOS 7 run pretty damn smoothly on the iPhone 5...

As if Apple fan has a choice even zero performance improvement, Apple fan will still buy for the style, the design, the experience, and most of all the bragging rights.

They still think they are carrying a master piece and everyone admire them. :eyeroll:

Only 31% faster? Really a minor updates from head to toe.

Snapdragon 800 is 75% faster than last year Snapdragon S4 Pro. :)

I dont care if it is 200% faster.with phones like xperia zu, note 2,LG G2 and upcoming note 3 and Sony Honami why on earth would I buy an iphone????
The iphone5s will have had time competing with even the htc one and s4.

In terms of sales, the iPhone won't have trouble competing. Practicality, well, that's another story..

who the heck cares. tbh I wont get it, but from an objective pov, I know it'll be fast. real snappy, smooth, responsive, and fully capable of running the millions of aps at its disposal. it'll do nearly everything it says it will with efficiency and most who own it will be happy. it may not be a good device for al, but for many, it will be exactly what they want.

The next PowerVR in the A7 SoC will blow out of other every GPU on the market.
5S will be a beast.
It's sad to see here so many idiots commenting about benchmarks which are nothing.

Listen up eonnaydra... Apple will never hold it's former glory and if u were smart u would run as far away from them apples as u can. In 6 rd 7 years it will be appleberry. Straight facts. When I think apple I think of the little child that screams when they don't get what they want and is sitting in the corner cause they won't SHARE their jelly beans.

They also lose new customers by the MILLIONS in every new release at this pace android will rule the world. We already beat up appleers for their lunch money. So the next step won't be that difficult
