For the third time, Clove sells out inventory of the Nokia Lumia 920 before it arrives at the store

0. phoneArena 12 Jan 2013, 05:58 posted on

The Nokia Lumia 920 may yet turn out to be the Windows Phone 8 device that makes the platform a real challenger to iOS and Android in the same manner that the Motorola DROID kick started Android in 2009; for the third time, U.K. retailer Clove sold out of the Nokia Lumia 920 before the inventory arrived at the store and backordered units will start shipping as soon as this coming Monday...

No1 hates WP, more choices is better.

But the truth is WP is not as good as Android, and MS lacks creativity.

what Android fans want is MS should do better job with WP and not use smear campaigns to compete.

What are you talking about? You dont know anything about creativity.

Android has been made using iPhone and Windows design and style. Mr. Steve Jobs knew everything about this nd declared his famous words:

"I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong," Jobs said. "I'm going to destroy Android, because it's a stolen product. I'm willing to go thermonuclear war on this."

WP8 is the only innovative, fresh and new os in market. The rest are just the same they have been for years.

Go and learn before making such stupid comments.

that's your comment is stupid man, what innovation WP8 has?

Every1 knows Jobs stole multitouch technologies and patented them, those patents are now being invalidated by USPTO.

Everything about Android is innovative: The level of customizability of widgets, interactive Notification Center, Google Now, intuitive implementation of multitasking...

you deluded fanboy

''Everything about Android is innovative: The level of customizability of widgets, interactive Notification Center, Google Now, intuitive implementation of multitasking...''

My litle friend, innovation does not stop once something new is invented. Google did not invent widget but it did great job making widgets as useful and beautiful as it is today. Same thing about multitasking and many other things.

I disagree 100%. Not only is it worthy it's an amazing setup. Say what you want but it didn't take WP six iterations to get their OS smooth.. Googles lack of polishing their products is evident with almost all their products. WP is fresh and new while Android is stagnant and boring, very MySpace like... We all know what happened to MySpace when something fresh came along. Further more you are very troll like with you "need" to bash WP in every area that their is a topic on them.

You're not acting any better than he is seeing as you're bashing android yourself. I disagree with your opinion of android OS cos I use it & I'd rather you contributed by discrediting his views about WP & in doing so help people like me "see" what's superb about WP & the Lumia 920

Actually I haven't "seen" nokia's lumia phones yet.

I totally agree with you. Android is like indeed Myspace of mobile OS. Remembered how users mess the pages with garbage stuff to the point of thinking they look cool but then lag.

somehow I think that contrast is a bit off. MySpace died because although it gave choice the way they implemented it was horrible. Facebook succeeds now because it has at least allowed some choice while allowing the one thing that has become major, sharing.

Android exists in a perfect state of choice that allows users to do as they please but at least in a controlled environment. iOS has a very controlled environment that dictates everything. WP remains much in the middle between the two.

I'd say Android is like MySpace, WP somewhat like early Facebook (when it was college-only), and ios is like AOL circa 1997.

I dunno, 12 per store per shipment is pretty good numbers. There's some stores that only sell 1 or 2 of a particular model per month, even new ones.

Um, verizon sells the Lumia 822, a WP8 phone, and sprint sold one or two previously, and has announced it well sell more soon. It put too much into the iphones and has to bide its time before putting much into a new line. That and all the other crazy stuff they're going through.

I like this article as it really does hit at the core for one of the reasons why Android grew to be so amazing. Windows Phone is one awesome OS and I think it would really add to the fray between Android, iOS, and now BB10. More competition is better and one can only hope for the continued success of the platform right behind Nokia. I just hope the other manufactuers get on the ball to create some awesome devices for Windows Phone so it continues.

Let all Platforms exist ! But what i as a customer needs is absolutely less fragmentation on hardware level as well as software level.
Each Year every hardware-software joint venture should come up with only 3 phones high, medium and low range phones. Only 3 per year and they should support their phones for 3 years - on time software updates !
I think then we can have a very healthy eco-system of technology, its a win for both consumers and companies !
