For the sixth consecutive year, survey says Verizon Wireless customers are the most satisfied
For the sixth consecutive year, Verizon Wireless customers are the most satisfied in the industry, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index survey. The index is compiled by the Stephen M. Ross Business School at the University of Michigan and shows that Verizon Wireless not only scored above the competition in customer satisfaction, but also increased its score 3% over last year. The carrier has had the lowest churn rate among cellular networking firms over the last 18 quarters including the 1.47 figure for the first quarter of 2009. The survey also showed that the entire wireless industry received its highest marks ever for customer satisfaction. Does everybody agree about that?

There is no doubt, for those who care mostly about coverage and call quality, Verizon is the best. But I do wish they had better phone selection - i.e. the iPhone. They have a couple of iPhone like devices, but nothing comes close to the iPhone's ease of use and application selection. Everyone I know who has switched from Verizon to ATT recently has done it for the iPhone. If Verizon had the iPhone, ATT would be dead.

I agree with you techie...at&t isnt horrible like T-mobile. But without the Iphone they remind of a higher priced T-mobile lol

i disagree techie. where can you find a better span of phones. there is something for everyone at VZ. all at&t has is the iphone, which to be honest, has it's share of problems. to say that verizon does not have a good selection of phones shows your ignorance in regards to what the company offers.

I have a omnia and so far the best phone i ever had. I drop it all the time on concrete tile floor, you name it and i hit it on it. i do not know if its the phone or just luck but it still works great and almost no marks. The only reason i would want a i phone is for how good the screen and the gyro thing works. I can alter almost any thing on my phone so i do not get sick of it. but when i call and have a problem with my bill or phone i can always find good help. That's why i would not go to att. sprint is almost the same as Verizon but they my friend has sprint and every month he gets a bill thats way to high and it takes him all day every month to fix it. But i am wondering when the update from samsung for the screen and other stuff like widgets and stuff and the one from Verizon for gps unlock is gonna happen like the teck guy explained to me.

Well better start planning the funeral since the exclusivity to AT&T ends soon, and rumor control says that the iphone will be available from Verizon sometime in 2010. Everyone I have talked to that is with Verizon and didnt get the iphone was because it would mean leaving Verizon, and going to AT&T (Cingular). There are a couple of things that make a good wireless company. First is the company, there plans pricing, customer service, and the network. Second are the phones and there reliabilty, which has made me a loyal VZW customer since they merged with Airtouch several years ago. If I have ever had a problem with either which has been rare they have ALWAYS fixed it to MY satisfaction. VZW is the only wireless company that Im aware of that hasnt merged to stay afloat like AT&T and Cingular.

Well said. I agree completely.

What is this an ode to iPhone? Everyone just a few months ago was complaining how the iPhone sucks and is for children. Why the sudden change of heart? Maybe it's because AT&Ts exclusivity is ending soon and Verizons chance of getting it has increased. Maybe?

don't count on it coming.

I hope it doesn't come to Verizon. I enjoy being on ATT very much

You say verizon needs a better selection on phones but if you look, verizon has more models then any other carrier. There is plenty to pick from. For someone to complain about verizon having a poor selection because they dont have the iphone is retarded. Wait for LTE to launch in the next few years. When verizon gets an LTE iphone then ATT will be in trouble. But when your talking about selection of phones you need to realize that your saying that but you only bring up the iphone for ATT like thats a huge selection to choose from.

if crApple would make replaceable batteries and allow VZW to insure their device through Asurion, plus reduce their demands for control of the products and profits, then they might talk. Att decided it was in their best interest to get ravaged by crApple and basically sell their products without having any say so in anything, and it worked out OK for them, but the I Phone still has the highest return rate of any device on the market ( consumerreports.com) and that is never a good thing. BB Storm 2 FTW

If you are selling a million units a month then having a few more returns than your competition is not a big deal. And while you might not like particular aspects of the hardware, you cannot dispute that the App-Store is very appealing. So for those who like the bells and whistles they'll get the iPhone on ATT. For those who want a phone that works just about anywhere, they'll get any handset on Verizon.

the blackberry app store is very appealing also.

6. techie123 posted on 21 May 2009, 09:42

It's going to take some time for BB-App Store to match the breadth of apps available for the iPhone. I think there is even an app for wait times at Disney rides!

palm pre app store FTW!!!

The blackberry app is so appealing that nobody really knows anything about it (other than those with blackberry devices)

techie your name is so decieving, BB has well over 50k in apps available right now WITHOUT an app store necessary. BB Storm 2 FTW
