Flickr getting into the act, will offer 12 photo filters with newly re-designed app for the Apple iPhone

Yahoo has been making changes all over the place and that includes its Flickr app for the Apple iPhone which will join Instagram and Twitter by offering photo filters; the Flickr app will allow you to share your photos on Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook or via email and while the app is free from the App Store, it is not optimized for the Apple iPad...

These 'app filters' are for amateurs..or kids.. but for casual shots and social networking, why not? Still best with Photoshop on a PC.

I just can't understand it either?? In my opinion I see this as a fad that will quickly fade. I hate receiving pictures from instagram of cups of coffee or of the subway car with all types of filters added to try and make it look like a professional photographer took it when it is clearly obvious that it's over done filters on a phone . It has made apps that do these things fall out of favor with me. But I know everyone is not me so to each their own.
