FlexPay plug getting pulled by T-Mobile in December; carrier offers grandfathered postpaid plan to members

While T-Mobile stopped offering its FlexPay plan to new customers in July, the carrier still allowed those already signed up for the plan to be grandfathered in; now, the carrier is offering a grandfathered post paid rate in an attempt to migrate customers away from FlexPay, which will be eliminated in December...

That sounds like a pretty cool program but I thouht you could buy a phone at full price at any time and not have to be in a contract an any carrier.

only with prepaid. T-Mobile though will not require you to buy a data plan if you buy a phone at the retail price (even over time on value plans) The other big three will require a contract for sure no matter what you do without discounts. (im not 100% sure on this with sprint)

This is good news for flex-pay people. According to this article, flex-pay people have bad credit and it's a way for them to get service. So now TMo is just incorporating them directly into the regular post-paid service with no penalties. It just stinx for new people with bad credit, but current subs are making out.
