Fix for Nokia Lumia 900 is coming; buyers through April 21st get $100 rebate

After confirming that a memory management problem with the Nokia Lumia 900's software is hampering users efforts to connect to the internet, the Finnish based manufacturer has created a software fix and owners of the device can download it or exchange their model for a new one...

So Nokia isn't claiming it's a feature or its users are holding it wrong, and admitting it immediately, and going well above the expected norm and refunding the purchase price while exchanging as well? Wow, every OEM should do this.

That's really sad, a major software fix for a flagship device that was just released. And, before you criticize (because iDon't), not being able to connect to the internet when most of what we do requires internet connectivity is a MAJOR flaw.

I was hoping more from Windows Mobile's new flagship phone; sad, really sad [really].

Yeah, but finding it, admiting it, correcting in fast time, and also rebating some money for the problem, make them better than most of other companies out there.

That's how all brands should treat their flagship, with prime service.

On other note, this move is a better marketing than any other thing they did until now. Be sure that if i was thinking of buying it, this would seal the deal, not for the money but for how they responded to the problem.

lots of major phones have problems... thats why they have software updates... there hasnt been one phone thats been perfect from day one... im just glad its an easily fixable software thing and not a recall-worthy hardware issue

Really shouldn't be complaining too much about the problem they had with data usage. Within a few days they found a way to fix it (just a testament to how well supported this device is) and now being able to get a new high end smartphone for free. It's a steal, and i'm sold.

This is pretty impressive considering it has been out two days and they fixed it. Um I pretty sure to this day apple has not fixed the battery issue with the 4s. Oh yah it also took apple weeks to admit the issue.

True, but apparently the problem was limited to a relatively small number of units produced in Mexico, while most of the units were produced in Asia. I know mine was made in Korea and hasn't had any problems. Considering how many hundreds of thousands of units were produced, there's bound to be some flaws, either from the manufacturing end or the supply end. It could be something as simple as a die press for a chip had worn down at a supplier causing premature failure of the chip, and it can be difficult catching that in quality control

hmm I am still going to buy a Nokia 900 in May or June. A white one with a white Tux would be a nice combo hot damn I will look with that and some nice shades

So can anyone walk into an AT&T store and get this phone right now for free until April 21st? Or do you have to have already bought it and you have till April 21st to claim your rebate?
