I like Samsung, but I have to say what happened to their design department? This is meant to be a Flagship product yet it looks like a mid tier phone. Yes it's powerful and super fast but if I am going to spend hundreds of dollars on it I expect it to look the part. This looks like your standard Samsung plastic box. Using a Pentile screen is also unforgivable, so disappointed with Samsung.

Kudos to HTC for going outside their comfort zone and coming out with a fresh cool looking design in HTC One X.

actually, IMO it doesn't look like any other phone even if it's plastic. I have to say it's unique and simple - too simple that we have been let down.

I'm disappointed with the screen too. :(

but I have one thing to say though: the HTC One X and the SGS 3 are like Zeus and Poseidon. They have their specialties and they are both gods of this phone's generation... coming soon, Hades and the others... lol. *too much wrath of the titans for me*

Haters gonna hate, but this could easily be the most successful Samsung phone ever because of all the hype.

Just saying, cause all the people would be back and say, RIP SGS3 and all that. like I said,

"It's an upgrade to the SII, not the Nexus and Samsung has really done a good job with Touchwiz and all that. When the SII came out, there was not much hype and fun over it but give it time and you'll see the full potential. It may not be the phone for geeks like us, but I'm sure it will lead the way in sales and all that because everyone knows Samsung is the anti-iPhone."

S3 is good phone but not Great.
Its still lacks in some areas are like-

Only 8mp camera, y not 12?
Led flash, y not xenon?
Looks like this phone still has cheap plastic body.
DISSAPPOINTED.

LED has advantages to Xenon, and I think LED can light up on Video Recording while Xenon cannot.

The design is subjective and please stop with the cheap part. It may be plastic but I don't think it will feel cheap in anyway.

Let's wait for camera samples. :)

I suggest you to send your resume to Samsung & ask them to hire you. People alway critizise. Is so easy to do it.

Nothing in life is perfect. I won a Note & GS2 & they´re not perfect. Apple Iphone is not perfect. We will never have a perfect phone.

If you don´t like it your oipinion would not avoid others from getting it. I wish I could get it right now.

The same "cheap plastic body" have Nokia Lumia 900 and HTC One X and it is called Polycarbonate!

Why won't it make a good phone? The pixel density alone in this phone calls for more RAM. I believe that Samsung made a mistake by not including at least 1.5 gigs.

i know if you not going to get the bloody phone then why complain lol...one x is cheaper by £20-£30 quid...i rather pay that extra to get removable battery, removable storage and the exynos chip...personally the 1st 2 are the most important to me in any phone i purchase and if it does not have them i dont get it...(learnt my lesson from the ip4 which was a great phone but hated the fact i couldnt just put in my sd card and judt drag and drop)...one x does look better in my opinion but the hands on have said the s3 feels much better in the hand which is more imprtant than looks.

its one of those features its nice to have even though you wont use it all that much...i do like the idea of turning on and off such as bt,wifi etc but then again i can just swipe down the notification and do it that way which would most likely be quicker...iphone 4s sold alot due to siri and i wouldnt be surprised if this does the same...some times gimmicks are included just to sell and not functuinality...im not going to say i dont want it lol

At the end of the day....

The people that are stating they are dissappointed with the phone are still going to buy the phone. Also, the same people would have complained about something (ex: "oh, the phone doesn't cook me breakfast...I'm sooo dissappointed"). Come on people, let's move on from the cry baby statements and appreciate what is good about the phone. This is a year of great products from HTC, Samsung and Apple...just embrace it and stop jugging the "HaterAde

However, the difference between Samsung and Apple fans is that Samsung fans admit when the device doesnt live up the expectation.... I dont thing I have ever seen an Apple fan say that the 4s was a POS and not worth the money.

Heres the difference though. The 4s was just an updated(if thats the word) version of the orginal iPhone 4.This is suppose to be an upgrade to the S2.

All in all, if I had a choice I would get the One X, but im on verizon and if the S3 comes to verzion I would glady buy it. The rumored DInc LTE is just too small imo.

No one who hates the S3 now is going to buy it. Dutch1, use some logic.

A few who are disappointed will buy it because their contract is up and other such reasons.

It's probably a a good phone, but it's not groundbreaking, there's no reason they didn't show this at CES. It's last year's tech, it's not next-gen.

When the S2 came out it felt and performed as next-gen.

Best Phone EVER

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has got all the hallmarks of the best Android phone yet – exactly what Samsung wanted to achieve.

The specs are all industry leading: 4.8-inch Super AMOLED+ HD screen, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, 64GB internal memory, eye tracking and so much more. The design may be lightweight but is certainly iconic, and the feel in the palm and pocket is impressive.

Samsung's decision to focus on services and interaction as much as design will be the area that makes or breaks the Galaxy S3 – if they all work as intended, the rest of the competition will really have to work to catch up.

Following up the Galaxy S2 was always going to be a difficult task, but with the S3 we've definitely got a phone that could be worthy of that crown

it seems that most fans ..here are dissapointed by the future bust of theSGSIII, not gonna lie I was excited to see the follow up to the SGSII, but wil stay in Apple camp as Samsung failed miserable... and wait for the US version to hit the U.S.. remix will be happy with the S4 chip.. enjoy...

Design: Galaxy S3 < One X
Performance: Galaxy s3 > One X

Performance matters more than design to me :D

While some have criticised the launch of the SIII saying it was as disappointing as the iPhone 4S launch, I beg to differ. The iPhone 4S has an almost identical physical design to the iPhone 4 while most people were expecting a departure from this including a larger screen. The SIII provides not only a larger and higher resolution screen, but a progressive new design which has curves inspired by nature.

When it comes to design often it's something you like, or something you don't, the rest of the criticisms are arguably minor. Build quality is much less subjective, but often confused with build materials used. The original Galaxy S I9000 and Galaxy SII I9100 both used very similar materials, both of them also had high build quality and durability. As NZtechfreak has stressed so many times, using premium build materials does not ensure high build quality. In fact, while HTC often uses more premium feeling materials, their build quality is often appalling and most of their recent devices have been affected by one issue or another.

While you might have been shocked that Samsung used a Pentile Matrix Super AMOLED HD 720p display on the SIII, you really shouldn't be - the full RGB stripe technology just isn't ready yet. In fact, you shouldn't even be disappointed, as at over 300 PPI its very unlikely that you will be able to notice any tell-tale cross-hatching or any issues with luminance inconsistency, the latter of which affected the Galaxy Nexus. Sure, it might not best the amazing SLCD-2 display on the HTC One X, but it comes close, and it's a huge step up from the resolution limitations of the Galaxy SII.

While the software enhancements were a major focus; and some feel a major let down, there were actually a few ideas I found to be quite appealing. Keeping my screen on while I'm looking at it might seem fairly minor, but its small usability tweaks like this that become things that annoy you when they are no longer present. Another feature I'm looking forward to is the pop up play functionality, which would allow me to continue watching a video while texting the Fiancée on the train to/from work.
