First two 4G LTE USB modems for Verizon appear
With Verizon about to turn on its 4G LTE service in 38 select cities, most people are wondering what LTE devices will be avaliable. Earlier this summer the LG VL600 USB modem was posted to the FCC site, showing that it supports 4G LTE and is backwards compatible with 3G EVDO. Now on Verizon's Testman site, the LG VL600 has appeared, along with the Pantech UML290 USB modem. Unfortunately, the wrong image is shown for both of them, as well as the description and price, but this is often the case when new devices show up on the testman site. All we know at this point is that having them listed is a step in the right direction, and we'll learn more about them once there are markets with LTE up and running. That could be as soon as a few week from now, as Charleston, WV will be one of the first cities with Verizon's 4G coverage.
