I hope they put the three bottom buttons far from eachother and not close together, that would not be good ...

Best regards!

the step up of Nokia, the downfall of Samsung

Not happening anytime soon. Nokia isn't going to dominate the mobile world if they're with WP8. They're doing good, but can do better if they make phones for both WP8 and Android (Firefox OS would be interesting.)

I agree although I use a Nokia Windows 8 smart phone. I want Nokia to survive and believe if they made 2 really good Android smart phones they would make a lot of money to help pay their bills.

Do you really think MS will keep giving 1 bn/yr to Nokia if they make Android devices along with WP8? If Nokia goes that way, then they need an instant hit and if not, they go down because they don't have much cash.

In any event, I think that if Nokia were going down (they aren't), they would use Android as a last resort.

Financially, Nokia isn't the most stable. They're only with WP8 because, like you said, MS if signing a check for them. Had they gone to Android in the beginning and release the Lumia 1020 running 4.2.2, they would definitely take down Samsung.

If Nokia had released a 1020 w/ android, Snapdragon 800 and a 1080p screen, the whole tech community would have instantly branded it as the best phone ever made, but it wouldnt have made a dent in market because Samsung has, in the last 2 years, put tremendous amount of money in marketing and make people think Samsung products are the best.

It would have taken at least 15 months for people to even realise Nokia is making great Android phones and Nokia couldnt have survived that long.

It would have been the best phone ever made. And I think they would have be tied with Samsung in market share or be right behind them. HTC dominated from 2009-2010, but when Samsung came out with the GS2, they quickly fell and really never recovered even with the HTC One.

The Downfall of Nokia was when they signed on with WP.

Not that they can't come back, which I believe is possible if MS does all the right things and gets consumers REALLY excited about phone/PC/Xbox integration.

Had Nokia been smart and started churning out Android phones, then I think they could have been sitting on top of the heap with Samsung, and ahead of them probably, with their good build quality and attention to detail.

It would be interesting to see what that Nokia would have done to push Samsung. I bet we'd have different Sammy phones right now too!

Folks this confirms that Microsoft has given the GDR3 updates to it's OEM partners. The GDR3
Updates enable Windows 8 smart phones to be made with all the high technology gear that Apple Iphones and Android smart phones use. now Anti Windows 8 smart phone trolls can no longer boast that their smart phones have better technology than Windows 8 smart phones. next comes the Windows 8 blue updates which will be mostly software updates that Windows 8 smart phones will get for free. Windows 8 smart phones are getting better and better folks

Nokia could use 9xx for high end phablets with normal sized camera sensors and OIS and 10xx for normal sized phones with gigantic camera sensors and OIS like 1020.

If true especially with aluminium build, some kind of pureview camera and gdr3 update with some kind of Windows 8 like landscape functionality for the home screen, this will be the reigning supreme phablet on the market. Ideal screen size too, now I'm stuck as to whether to go for the Lumia 1020 or this beast! The 920 is going on ebay!

Probably real: a) similar design to recently unveiled Nokia Lumia 625, b) Bearing in mind the Lumia 625 is the biggest smartphone they (will) sell (as yet), they probably want a big screened handset to compete with other companies (sony and samsung), without compromising on the actual size.

hmm folks to me this thing looks like a 7 or 8 inch tablet with super thin bezels. Nokia is said to be making at least one tablet and it will be running Windows 8.1. if I am correct then..folks you can bet your last dollar it wont be a bad Mini Windows 8.1 tablet like that ACER Iconia W3 which was so bad a retailer told ACER they will not keep it in their store. ACER is making a thinner better Aconia W3- #2 to get rid of the shame they got from producing a SAD SACK Windows 8 product. If this is true it also appears that nokia may or may not make the reported 10.1 windows 8.1 metal tablet that will come in Colors including Pink. YOO Nokia
please make a Navy blue colored tablet for us Real Men

In order for Nokia to survive, they need to be competing with the big boys (Samsung, LG, Sony etc.) who are knocking out Gargantuan phablets. The future is phablets & tablets. Even if they release one monster phablet it will be enough to satisfy the fans. Everyone favours a brand and choice is a wonderful thing. That is why Samsung have done so well in the phone, smartphone and phablet, TV business, because they have catered for everyones needs. Nokia have always rolled out different models, sizes and shapes, so I don't see why rolling out a phablet would be a big problem unless they are been held back by Microsoft.

One thing is for sure, No one can compete with the Camera results and TouchScreen Sensitivity of the NOKIA LUMIA. Nokia Lumia has the best camera results, even with 5 Megapixels, and the 8.7 MP PureView is f****** better than Samsung and iphone.
There is Actual competition of NOKIA and IPHONE, Samsung is out of the way as it doesn't own any software.
