First-gen Motorola DROID to get an update?

Even at the age of 2-years old, a time when most smartphones have been retired by its owner and sent to a drawer somewhere in Boca Raton, many copies of the OG Motorola DROID are still in use; to reward those still using the DROID, Motorola is seemingly planning an update of unknown content...

I'm a happy Droid Razr owner now :)
Still, thats a cool thing to do for OG Droid owners.

I am so green with Android envy! (You see what I did there? :) ) Anyway, how ya likin, it? Does the pintile display take away from the SAMOLED experience? Fill us in.

Better reception than the Bionic.
Better 4g signal(no on and off 3g to 4g like the Bionic, as of yet anyway)
Cant say anything about battery as of now sense I've only had it for 4h30 and it only had half a charge when it was activated.
It feels great in my hands; super light, yet soft due to the Kevlar back, and man does it look good :)
I'm sorry to say that I didn't notice any difference from the pixilation problems that plague the Bionic. Unfortunately the screen looks identical to the Bionics screen.
Camera is awesome. It shoots pictures about a half-second quicker than it did on the bionic.
I'm at work right now and our facility is regulated by CPNI rules so I haven't been able to play with it too much. I'm very existed about using the task app once I get off work.

Thought Razr wasn't Pentile. Either way at high resolutions, it won't be noticeable.

Interesting... might grab my old Droid and see whats up! I truly loved the heavy and sturdy feeling of this device... one of the best screens too! (as far as feel, and not resolution).

Hm... well, I already have Android 2.3.7 on my Droid 1. I really don\'t think there\'s enough RAM to handle ICS. If anyone\'s going to get ICS on there, it\'s going to be the CM team. But even they had issues getting 2.3 on it. Would be fun though. I can\'t sell the phone as I\'ve damaged it beyond any dollar value, but it still works.

Just got my RAZR yesterday. This is cool though. I think it shows Moto's commitment to update as many phones as possible. Here's to Moto making fewer low end phones like Citrus and concentrating on sweet machines like the OG Droid and the RAZR.

i went from the OG Droid to the Razr. great phone.. snappy response and looks very nice! too bad apple ripped off the razr\'s screen off effect.

I miss the OG. Had the best camera. The one on the Bionic/Razr (they use the same sensor) [currently] sucks! I own the Bionic.

I'm sure its just a small software update to fix some bugs. Lol ICS? Get real there's no way that's going to happen on such a slow processor and small ram.
