When Nokia announced its partnership with Microsoft, the first question for many was "when." Jo Harlow, head of Nokia's key Smart Devices unit, hinted that we might see the first ones in 2011, even sooner than initial expectations for launch in 2012...

Honestly, its the way Nokia went about doing there business. Elop is a real shady person and how that affects Nokia is what people should be talking about. Hopefully Intel pulls through with Meego and Ill purchase the device. Windows is a simple OS, but thats all it is. It cant even compare to Maemo 5, and thats a dead OS.

Im pulling for Nokia... The software is being backed by the largest and most influential tech company of our lifetime... As long as the hardware can provide solid structure, this should be a great match. Especially as the very capable WP7 OS matures.

I second that on pulling for Nokia. Great hardware on the exterior and the Microsoft OS under the hood creates one powerful device. WP7 will only mature as time passes. Should be a GREAT alliance of power houses bringing a better product and once they latch onto a carrier or two it will just get better. Good luck!!!

Yep. WP7 now stands where Apple did with iOS in the beginning. But then it became more "revolutionary" which will be true for WP7 too. Anyhow, did you see Galaxy SII new UI with tiles that look like WP7 tiles? That is funny.
Nokia did the only and IMO the right thing with this decision. I wish good luck too!

I checked out the Galaxy SII OS and it looks very similar to the tile OS of WP7 interface. Evidently the tile interface is catching on with other companies taking a piece of it. Should be quite interesting with the mobile OS application war. Both consumers and carriers will benefit from it immensely.

I am curious about the copy-paste that will be ready by March. Curious about the ringtones, profiles, voice-call function, etc. I am not curious about multi-tasking. Last, but not least - I just can't wait to see a phone that looks like the concept phone on the photo. Amazing!
