Firmware update for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

No sooner did we add our review of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, than Nokia sent out a firmware update for the first S60 touchscreen device. Besides adding stability to the unit's system, the upgrade adds a Google search bar and improves the web browser and music player. The new OS is version 11.0.008. A complete list of the improvements that are covered by the update can be seen at S60inside.com. Our review took note of software and performance problems with the 5800. We pointed out the lack of stability in the OS. Therefore, we can't be surprised by Nokia's action here. If you are an owner of the 5800 XpressMusic, let's hear if you have noticed any changes after downloading the new firmware.

My friend already has this new OS version one week ago. But he did not update his phone's software. It is the default version when he bought it. BTW, the phone is brand new. :)
