We love the App Store - it’s the one huge advantage Apple has over competing platforms, but as much as we like downloading apps and games from it, we also hate the fact…

@scottS - what do you mean useless! victor H resident iOSarena fan numero uno says app store is the HUGE advantage over everyone else... and if this makes him excited, makes me excited!

Don't know bout you guys but me loves the app store, it's really cool! I loved it when Steve tried to sue amazon for those words, even cooler! and totally deserved, Apple invented those words ya know! :/

You dont have to put a password in for updating apps either now, Schrader have done an article on this that goes more in-depth

This was one of major annoyances when using the AppStore or getting app updates on my complementary iPod Touch. Sign in, new Terms and Agreements, sign in again, app finally downloads or updates. FFS...

Wow I'm happy the Play store doesn't do that. Seems like a pain in the ass. At least Apple fixed it.

It's one of the things I despised about the Apple App Store especially when installing a plethora of new apps. It's too tedious. Another thing I find very irritating is that after confirming to install an app, it will jump out to the home screen. If that was the only app I wanted to install then it's fine but what if I was planning to install several? Jumping in and out of the App Store gets old... very fast! I hope they fix that too.

I also own an Android tablet and I loved the fact that the Play Store wasn't so annoying!

I have an iPad 2. I never owned any other iOS device so I'm not sure about the iPhone 2G.

Yea...I helped my kids mother set up her iPhone 4. Pain...

On the Android market....at least the latest version.....you can set a pin for purchases. Free apps dont need a pin. Anything that requires a purchase does.

My cousins share an iPad ( they are under 10) and they always want to download apps, and that limits them from downloading everything. I don't really mind having to insert the password for a free app.

This is something that each user could decide by their own. Your cousins example is a good one, but it isn't the majority of the cases out there.

I agree with this too. I havent had too much trouble recovering from my kids downloading suspect free apps on my Android phones.

I would like to see Google make it so you can set a pin for any apps, not just paid. Have an option for paid or all.

Thank god finally. Even with my phone jailbroken with the app that should have solved the problem I still had to put in a password for everything. I thought you should at least have the option on your phone whether or not you wanted the additional protection. Why on earth would somebody want to input a password just for some free apps or for updating.
