Final Fantasy I and II are coming to App Store soon
The iPhone platform is gradually becoming second home for a host of classic games. We have already reported about the iPhone versions of titles like Monkey Island, Simon The Sorcerer, Earthworm Jim and Broken Sword and it seems that another famous series is about to come alive on your iPhone display, this time the turn-based RPG with almost religious popularity - Final Fantasy. The console version of the game already features several sequels and expansions, the game universe is truly rich and popular and there are even full-length movies based on it. This is why we are so worked up about the opportunity to play Final Fantasy on the iPhone.

The information about both parts is still sketchy at best. The official website of Square Enix (creators of the game series) says the title will become available at the AppStore soon, although no particular release date or price have been mentioned. As you may see for yourself in the leaked pictures, both instalments will feature rather antiquated graphics, but what we know from experience is that the story is deep and truly gripping. Still, we wouldn´t mind if Square Enix decides to come up with a an iPhone version that visually resembles the latest instalments to the series developed for PC and Xbox.

I do use these kinds of games when I'm not near a PS3 or XBOX 360 but again that's only when I'm NOT near one.

Jealous.... I would never buy an iphone... but needless to say I am jealous. Let's hope by the time they officially release 4 and 6, they are compatible on WinMo7 or android as well... I have emulators to bypass on my 6.5 phone now... but I would like to have real versions where sound works flawlessly.

God bless Apple. Lick our boots, Iphone haters!!!!!!!! This is but another example of why the NOTHING (sorry, Nexus) One and the 745 other devices by Android will NEVER, EVER match the awesomeness of the Jesus Phone.

STFU ur such a loser. If you think so little of Android, why do you sound so damn threatened by it?

You can play Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9 already on the HD2. It's not perfect yet, but very close. So good job apple, with Final Fantasy 1 and 2!!! *kugh* fail *kugh* Shaunieo, you must feel pretty stupid now huh? If only you knew the competition is way ahead... poor blind iPhone addict. EDIT: Just read that even on the Nokia N79 there has been Final Fantasy 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 ... ROFL! EDIT2: Just remembered that the iPhone 3Gs probably can't even run Final Fantasy 9, 1GHz processor FTW!
