Fastlane focus of Nokia Asha promo video
Nokia has released a promotional video for its Nokia Asha 501, and as you can imagine, it shows a number of young kids having fun, acting as though carrying around a 2G phone is no big deal. Despite the Nokia Xpress browser's ability to compress data by as much as 90%, surfing the web is still pretty slow going.

The video concentrates on the Nokia Fastlane, which takes note of all of your recent activity on the phone. Opened apps are listed there along with the recent contacts that you've called. Calendar events and your latest social network posts can all be found on Fastlane.

The Nokia Asha 501 is a low-end model featuring a 3 inch LCD screen with resolution of 240 x 320 and a pixel density of 133ppi. There is 64MB of RAM on board and a 32GB capacity microSD slot. The 3.2MP camera on back has an aperture size of  f2.8 which means that you shouldn't expect pictures taken in the dark to come out fine at all. A 1200mAh cell keeps the lights on. If you need a phone just to play around with, this might do. If you need for your phone to do some medium to heavy lifting, your best bet is to look elsewhere.
