Facebook shows live video filters that look like Prisma's
On stage at the WSJDLive event, Facebook showcased prototype Live Video filters that give the footage the visual style of a painting in real-time. The outcome is heavily similar to that of popular app Prisma, which uses neural network processing to generate its filtered pictures and videos. However, it lacks the ability to process images and video in real-time.

Facebook hasn't announced a release date or which of its mobile products will gain the live filters. However, Facebook Live broadcasts seem to be a sure bet, as this is how the functionality was demonstrated. The feature already has basic color filters and the artistic ones could become a nice addition. In the meantime, everyone can use Prisma or its tens of clones to have their photos and videos turned into artworks.
