Facebook may start pushing notifications to iOS users reminding them to update their status

Now, now, relax, such a feature is indeed in testing, but that doesn't mean that it'll ever make it to the official Facebook app for iOS. Still, it's good to be informed that we may soon need to disable push notifications for our Facebook apps...

The only apps I usually delete even if I need them on my Android... are the ones that push ads to my notification bar...

This is so counter effective that I don't think Facebook will do it... It will make many people angry and rather turn notifications off and not receive any...

If it's on iOS it wouldn't take long to show and annoy on Android. After all the troubles FB apps used to have I prefer going through the browser: less resource hogging, fewer problems.

The quickest way to get an app deleted on my phone is to push notifications. I HATE them.

I don't care how fun or amazing your crap is.. if you start bugging me, it's GONE.

How could anyone downvote this. The person is saying they like getting push notifications? I've already deleted the facebook app from my phone. If I want to post a picture; I post it to Instagram (which adds it to FB anyway). I didn't like how even though I said to NOT sync my contacts; I would find facebook syncing with them. So poof, be gone.

Words with friends does something similar to this. They usually do something like this "Hey, you and 'insert name of random opponent you played ages ago' haven't played in a while. Play now!" It's so irritating and it happens at least every few days.

The worst is when you go on an app downloading spree and can't figure out which app is pushing ads. I found Airpush Detector, it tells you which apps are doing it.

Push notifications are the most annoying thing ever.

I take that back. Highlighting random phrases in my comment to link to ads that pop up when you hover.....

MAKE IT STOP.

Seriously, PA, f***ing annoying. Cut it out. Like you don't already have enough ad revenue for the giant banner ads on each page.
