FCC says OK to Samsung slider GSM Pocket PC Phone - SGH-i750

FCC pages have just showed the Samsung SGH-i750 phone documents. They reveal that it's a tri-band (900/1800/1900MHz) GSM phone with cutting edge functionality, in slider design and not so big size. The device is based on Windows Mobile for Pocket PC Phones operating system, but unfortunately it is the old 2003 SE version. Hopefully, there would be an update to Win Mobile 5.0 later. Like the other Pocket PC Phones, SGH-i750 features full pack of Microsoft Office mobile applications as well as full HTML Internet browser and an email client. The main features of the device are:

  • GSM 900/1800/1900
  • GPRS/EDGE high-speed data
  • Windows Mobile 2003 SE OS for Pocket PC Phones
  • QVGA 240x320 pixels, 65k color touch display
  • 2 mega pixels camera with flash and QVGA video capture
  • Microsoft Office Mobile; Mobile Internet Explorer and Outlook
  • Memory expandable through microSD cards
  • USB, Infrared, Bluetooth 1.2, and Wi-Fi

FCC has approved the Samsung SGH-i858 earlier as well, which is also a sliding tri-band GSM phone with QVGA touch display, 2-megapixel camera, and similar design, but running on Linux-based OS, not Windows Mobile. It seems that Samsung plans to take the leading position on the market of high-end phones.
