I think that Palm has some of the most loyal customers in the industry. I have people all the time that call up and say they would rather stick with some broken, outdated Palm than switch to another OS. I think the device will be successful to Palm users, but a less impactful effect for people to switch from a Blackberry, or any other OS to the PIXI.

I knew they were going to get it and even one-upped Sprint with WiFi. If their version of the Pre is better too, that'll cause a big stink

I don't see this having the impact people think it will have. Reps will still push Droid due to reliability and now the return/exchange decelerator they get if a device is exchanged or returned. The Pre may get some customers, but nothing will have the impact Droid did unless it is an IPhone product.

i thought the pre series (pre/pixi) was a good phone that was released on the wrong network, and at the wrong time. The multitasking feature it had was great, but honestly it doesnt do anything the droid cant do. If palm pushed out more phones with the WebOS on it. maybe there would be more apps, and maybe it would be popular but for now, i will stick with android

In 5 months they have 2 devices, Android only had the G1 til this year. I like the look of Web OS better myself, with a growing app catalog (675 at last count) and probably more devices and carriers selling them it'll do nothing but get better

to sum it up, i think the web OS is more playfull and is fun to use. the android may be a little more productive but the damm thing is made by motorola. anyone who has any insight into handsets knows their quality control has gone down the tubes. i can't think of a good reliable handset that has come out in years except for maybe some older nextel devices. Sprint was an excelent platform for WebOS as is Verizon because both networks ARE fast and service overall is good. WebOS on american gsm networks would be a joke. any haters of the new palm devices that have preconcieved ideas on how they actual work, go check them out and play with em. The reason the iPhone is so popular is NOT because of the damm app store, it's because when you use it, it grows on you and you have fun JUST USING your phone. same with the palms.... no t so much with android.

When the other carriers get a chance to sell it their subs will learn to let go of preconceived notions
