FCC certifies Xiaomi Mi 4; is the company's current flagship about to launch in the U.S.?
Late last month, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro was certified by the FCC. Thus, the model became the first manufactured by "China's Apple" to ever go through the FCC certification process. With this certification, the device could be one of the first from the company to finally touch down in the U.S. Back in May, Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra said that Xiaomi would eventually expand to the U.S.

And now, it would appear that Xiaomi's current flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 4, will also be coming to America. That device has just paid a visit with the FCC, meaning that it too can be launched in the U.S. shortly. The Mi 4 carries a 5-inch display, with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 441ppi. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 801 SoC, containing a quad-core 2.5GHz CPU and the Adreno 330 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside with 16GB/64GB of native storage. The 13MP rear camera offers an aperture of f/1.8, allowing it to take photographs in low-light conditions. For selfies and video chats, there is an 8MP front-facing camera, and a 3080mAh battery keeps the lights on.

Back in May, Xiaomi sold some accessories from the MI.com website in the U.S. At the same time, it also offered the same accessories in the U.K., France and Germany. Among the products sold were a 5000mAh power bank, a 10,400mAh power bank, a set of headphones, and the Mi Band wearable.

Xiaomi is holding its "Grand Finale" event on November 24th, at which time we expect to see the unveiling of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 and possibly a Xiaomi smartwatch. With the FCC certifying the two phones, we could get some news about a long-awaited U.S. launch for Xiaomi during the event.
