FCC approves new BlackBerry Slider prior to introduction
BlackBerry and AT&T are expected to introduce the new 9800 Slider at a much anticipated event today. While you should keep checking in for our Live Coverage of the Event, it seems that the device made a stop to visit the FCC before heading to New York City to be introduced. The FCC's test results are sprinkled with the mention of some "MultiSourceDeclaration_9800_" documents. The actual model number cited by the FCC is BlackBerry smartphone RCY71UW.

The device is equipped with 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth. The phone's radio features quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band 850/1900/2100 UMTS and does match up with AT&T's 3G frequencies. Stay with us for the big event when we should learn much more about the most drool producing phone to ever wear the BlackBerry name.
