FCC approved the U.S. version of the HTC Touch Cruise
The North American 3G-friendly version of the HTC Touch Cruise, which had first leaked by the name of the Iolite, has been approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The U.S. Touch Cruise seems to have maintained its original appearance and specifications. Supported 3G frequencies are 850/1900 MHz, but still there is no word on carrier availability.

The HTC Touch Cruise is one of the latest HTC phones and features a 2.8-inch TFT touch-sensitive screen, 528MHz Qualcomm processor, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, 3.2-megapixel camera, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system and the Footprints application. The manufacturer has also thought of the drivers that will need to take advantage of the built-in GPS. As a result, HTC has developed an easy-to-use one-touch interface, which gets activated when the handset is put into its car cradle, in order to provide turn-by-turn directions.
