Displaying its wonderful new features, the Nexus One is the flagship device to own if you want to get your hands on Android 2.1. It’s been heard already that the Sprint version of the HTC Hero will be sporting the latest version of Android during the first half of 2010. Unfortunately that could mean any time between now and June; still a long way if you consider that the Nexus One was just launched. Fortunately though, owners of the European version of the HTC Hero may soon get a warm welcome to Android 2.1 starting February 15th. With a legitimate hard date, the rumor may spring some warm life back to HTC Hero owners during the long and cold winter. This claim is being made by sources from someone high up the ladder over at HTC Poland. Considering how quickly things can become stale after a while, luckily it won’t be too long before the Hero joins the Android 2.1 game.

Yes, you should just be able to go to the Europe branch of the Htc website, enter your phone serial and download the update.
