I didnt know it was priced at 800. but windows 8 seems more tablet oriented than laptop oriented. Maybe the price will go down if its mass produced or because of some other reason because this is going to really hurt its sales. hoping for the best

I'd rather spend the extra $100 or so for the touchscreen. My most recent computer purchase (shopping for a kitchen computer in 2009 or 2010) I was stuck between a AIO touchscreen, or a high-end netbook that could be stashed in one of the drawers. I wound up going for the netbook because while I thoroughly enjoyed the touchscreen experience, I realized Windows7 wasn't designed for the touchscreen, and that touchscreens would have significant improvements with Windows8, so better to save money and use the netbook for a few years until the Windows8 ones hit the market. I'm glad I waited, because not only will I get an AIO, I'll be able to get a touchscreen tablet and dock which will better suit my needs anyway (lots of design work), and both together will still be less than a "decent" imac (which is what my father-in-law wanted us to get) and it doesn't even have touchscreens (though it can have the touchpad thingee)

Apple believes that map data is FRAND, which they in turn believe means Free is Reasonable if Apple Needs it for Devices.

Seriously, when does Apple want to pay for anything?

Let’s not also forget that Schmidt sat on Apple’s board when Apple was developing the iPhone (and Google was also toying with the Android project)
The Loop‘s Jim Dalrymple put it best:
Schmidt steals whatever he can from Apple while sitting on the company’s board and then slithers away like a slug.
No wonder many people buy Steve Jobs’s argument that Android is a stolen product that lifted the look and feel and features from Apple as soon as the company unveiled the handset.

Nokia maps just can't compare to Google earth features of Google maps.
I had a foreign visitor yesterday and he was unsure about finding way to a certain place in my town..I took out my S3, and showed him a virtual tour over the street view, and the building itself. It was a breeze

Google maps are the best when it comes to user experience.Therefore they are mostly used.Nokia(Navteq Maps) are much older(1985) than Google maps(2005).it has large no of map database as compared to Google maps.Lets give Google some time to create whole world map database.

Im extremely dissappointed by nokia maps coz although they are good it has absolutely low detail for my area. thats why i still use google maps.

Put it this way:

They are both better than what Apple has to offer right now. Whoever offers free turn by turn navigation gets my vote.

Google did start making navigation and maps available off line in the last 2 years. Nokia did have a leg up on them there.

You cant go wrong with either Nokia's or Google's...but you can with Apple's.

care to explain your rational as to why Google to help Samsung pay its fine if there still one and apple will take over 2 years to get their map up on par with google map.

Maybe Pimpple shoulda thought about that before it decided to call theirs "the most powerful mapping service ever....".

Seeing as how some Samsung devices are are getting injunctions lifted...I would hold off on that 1 billion fine talk.
