0. phoneArena 05 Apr 2011, 23:36 posted on

Tim Sweeney of Epic Games, the force behind the Unreal Engine and such games as Infinity Blade and Gears of War, says that the iPad 2 is an "astonishing" jump in mobile gaming, while Android is unlikely to compete...

Pfffffffft...Epic sucks up to Jobs and disses Android just like it sold its soul to consoles as opposed to PC - where they freakin' come from. PCGA should just give them the belly sack. -_-

Agreed, Android devices have too much 'crap' running in the background. Even scrolling through screens, pinching to zoom and panning around is choppy. I don't hate android, but as of now, it IS crappy.

That must be your device. . . oh, wait you don't have an Android device do you?

I will admit that Android does need a bit more ram and cpu than iOS but then it does a butt ton more than iOS. . .

As for epic. . . whatever.

Google's new anti-fragmentation program will help standardize hardware and software around Android and by this time next year it will be easier to develop for than any other OS. Just like MS had to do with Windows back in its early days--standardized the the hardware with x86--Google is working with SoC manufacturers to enable a wide range of chips to work properly with Android => increased competition => faster hardware improvements => better devices.

And all you Apple fans can say THANK YOU, Google. Because without Android pushing hardware this fast and the competition its developed iOS devices would still be running chips around 500MHz, same old crappy screens, low ram, etc. . . . and you wouldn't have multitasking, folders, a push towards the cloud, etc. So, stop the smack talking and be thankful there is good competition to push everyone forward.

nicely said! epic is full of shit. There are plenty of Android phones capable of running infinity blade. Plus bloatware on Android will not effect performance lololol that is such a crock of shit. Most of it is small apps that don't even run in the background and most of them can be uninstalled.

Maybe it is sometimes choppy because it has actual multitasking, something the ifails don't have?

epic is just playing up to their money maker right now. once google irons out more of the fragmentation issues, you will see epic on android. epic is known for talkin mad crap about everyone, so its not suprizing. It makes headlines and thats the point.

apple doesnt have a stronger graphix chipset than android. Hell, they run on the same parts (of course, android is always a step ahead since the phones are released more often).
I wouldnt be suprized if there wasnt a real epic game on the android market by end of 2012.
