Of course the rumors are baseless, until it is a done deal, what are you going to say in public? Especially after the whole ATT and T-Mobile merger went public early and then didn't happen. How does the CEO of ATT look? So sorry if I am a little skeptical about what is really going on there behind the scenes.
Plus, yes, of course synergies within divisions is a nice catchphrase. If I were Nokia I would say the same thing so that I would have to make Microsoft buy the whole shebang and not just the one smartphone division. If Nokia is left with just the feature phone division with the rest of the world moving to smartphones, how long will they last?
