EVO 4G getting its serving of Froyo in the near future, says Sprint
Sprint announced today that the EVO 4G will be getting the Android 2.2 upgrade in the "near future". Sounds like they are sharing the same copywriter that Motorola uses. We would all benefit if we could just agree on how long the "near future" actually means. In the press release, the pin-dropping network dropped some bad news on owners of a pair of Android handsets. The Samsung Moment and the HTC Hero come to the end of their updating line with Eclair 2.1. Future Android devices that launch with 2.1 will get the Froyo upgrade, said the carrier. Users can expect the following benefits after receiving the Android 2.2 upgrade: updates to user interface, improved EAS Support, improved browser performance, including Flash 10x Support, voice dialing over Bluetooth and application storage on external memory.
