Are you f**king serious, EU? You'll go after Samsung for "anti-competitive" use of its patents but not Apple?

Like the courts have said, Apple isn't suing over anything necessary to make a smart phone or tablet. The same cannot be said for Samsung's counter suits.

I knew this would happen btw

And that's precisely it. Apple should not be able to block production of tablets based on trivial bulls**t patents. If anyone should be winning lawsuits here, it should be Samsung, especially since Apple went after them first, and since it costs a hell of a lot more for Samsung to do the R&D for those "necessary" patents.

oh poor samsung it "costs more" and they wernt firsrt… sucks for them… they should know better than to make a device that looks exactly like an ipad… somehow asus and acer and others made ones that dont look exactly like ipads… i would rather the money come back to the united states than a foreign country anyhow

You have a rather callous attitude toward the years of research and R&D dollars that go into developing real technology versus bulls**t design decisions like "rounded rectangle." Furthermore, why be an ethnocentrist? If people in South Korea, Germany or elsewhere make a good product, it's perfectly fine that they get paid for it. It's our own damn fault that foreign companies dominate our tech, vehicle, etc. aspects of our economy.

i have a rather callous attitude towards companies like samsung who steal apple's many years of r&d… why should they be allowed to copy a design that took apple literally longer than the iphone… and i am a huge supporter of a world capitalist market and i agree, but other countries should not be allowed to disgustingly copy american achievement… so ya, I enjoy american prosperity but no i am not one of those made in america people

your right we would be applauding , cause unlike apple other phone companies make devices that are not carbon copies of the one before it and acually make attempts to make better devices instead of seeing how much money they can milk out of the same device over and over again

Shut up before you make yourself look dumber than everyone thinks you are. X2 is an update to the X dual core processor, higher resolution screen and better overall performance. Razr Maxx, you must be stupid, this is just a variation of the Razr for the power user and motorola's answer to not having enough power to last the whole day.

Never seen such devotion to a company that tells you how to hold your phone, has software that tries to control your computer and blatantly tells us that Americans that we aren't smart enough to built components for the devices that we help make famous for them. Take that out of your mouth, it should be tasteless by now.

Anyway, this seems like some very odd happenings, not sure how they can only go after Samsung for anti competitive behavior when Apple always seeks to get injunctions that ban sales? How much more anti competitive do they have to get, destroying their manufacturing facilities? Sounds like bureaucratic nonsense at the highest order, seriously no one sees a problem here? Oh well the beat goes on, something else will turn up tomorrow.

wow same dumb people... the iphone 4S is still the iphone 4 but with some modifications just like Moto did with the RAZR Maxx.. the only diference is that Apple relased the 4S a little bit more than a year appart other than a few months... Apple doesnt wnat to trick you it was a different phone... I mean is called the same just added the the S at the end.. Moto added the MAxx to the Razr and you are fine but ohh no .. how dare Apple did that... bolony...

I agree! Apple didnt cheat people out or anything. they made a phone that was better than their last. idk why people hate. I can see why with all the law suits they do, but can we really change that? no. and on this topic, samsung is being investigated because they signed a contract to be fair and not misuse patents. its the only reason samsung is in hot waters and not apple or any other company. but i love samsung and hope nothing bad happens

I knew you and your illogical arguements couldn't stay away. how is the iPhone 4 to iPhone 4s any different than the Droid razr to Droid razr maxx? same naming concept..just with 4 extra letters instead of 1.

Wow, I thought someone had goofed up the title on this article and swapped the name Samsung for Apple. I can't help but to laugh because the irony of it all should be crystal clear to anyone who can read. Apple doen's want other OEMs using flat surfaces, menu buttons, or a rectangular shape. You know... the things you usually need to make a cellphone or tablet. Yet Samsung isn't allowed to ban Apple from using actual technology that someone invented from nothing! Wonder if there is anything that Apple CAN'T get away with?
