The HTC First
will be the, uh, first major exclusive
for U.K. carrier EE. The mobile operator was the first in the nation to offer 4G LTE service and is expected to launch the Facebook Home powered model sometime this summer. Despite the rather bold claim insinuated by the name of the device, the HTC First has mid-range specs and is really aimed not at the power user who wants the latest and fastest processor, a ton of RAM for multitasking and the latest and greatest GPU to support game play. No, the HTC First is designed for the Facebook user that finds himself checking in to his Facebook page numerous times a day.
The HTC First on EE will also include some proprietary features including EE Film
which offers 2 for 1 movie tickets (or cinema tickets as they sayin the U.K.), trailers, listings and digital movie downloads. A £5 discount on EE's FibreBroadband for superfast data speeds at home and on the road comes with the phone, and customer service can be quickly reached by dialing '33' on the handset. Finally, Clone Phone Lite allows the user of the phone to store on secure servers, the most important content on the handset.
