xD i cant wait! moto holds a large portion of the original cellular telecommunications patents. some of which form the basis for cellular telephony.

lets see how apple likes a taste of their own medicine.

I hope this means the death of Blur. Blur sucks I'm sorry the old Blur the new Blur and I bet Blur 4.0 will suck also. Motorola makes great hardware just crappy software.

"The DoJ said that in its investigations it has found that the acquisition of Motorola Mobility by Google is "unlikely" to lessen competition"

i think the only one that "likely" to lessen competition here is Apple.. DoJ should look into that..

I've always stated and will continue to state that this is a great move from Google. I can't wait to see what new high-end smartphones are created by the new merged company.

"the DoJ did warn that it would be on watch to make sure that patents acquired would not be used inappropriately. " Lines like these make my head spin as the BS crap that Apple has used in European courts and have prevailed border on absurd. Napkin drawing anyone? Similar looking rectangular computing devices, who needs patents when such crap is upheld by a court of supposed educated officials. Garbage!

Let's hope Google makes good on it's promise not to go favoring Motorola. No need to considering Moto is usually the quickest to market with updates to their devices the ones that matter anyway. I do believe that Google will use Moto's expertise in the set top boxes and internet area though. Now let's just hope Motorola keeps it's end of the bargain and releases less phones and stop short changing different regions some getting the same phone but with serious performance enhancing drugs...not cool.

my hope is that google will use this to push a true android experience with software and hardware phones and tablets and tv's with that google name no more going through samsung or htc to push the hardware aspect.
