Do you care about the viewing angles of your phone's display?

0. phoneArena 11 Mar 2013, 06:47 posted on

How important are screen viewing angles on your phone - do you care a lot about those levels, or do you think it does not matter, as you usually look at your handset straight-on, and, besides, it makes it more difficult for prying eyes to tell what's happening on your phone's screen? Check your answer inside. and sound off in the comments....

Depends, sometimes you want to show your friend or someone next to you a video or maybe a picture that you're watching.

if you want to show your friend something.....why dont you just hand them the phone and let them watch it, and get it back after they are done?

True... I view my phone straight-on most of the time, but poor viewing angles do piss me off sometimes, like one of the 7 inch china tabs i have, given by someone. Solid performer and good resolution but the poor screen viewing angle when held in portrait mode (doesnt happen when held in landscape) being the biggest drawback. As expected from TFT screens.

Of course, yes. Considering everything you do on the smartphone you do it on the screen and you want it to be the best for eye comfort, the answer is yes, viewing angles on a $700 device count.

Funny that! I have shown people a few things on my shiny brand new Xperia Z in White and they have all oooh'd and aaaaaah'd in admiring the screen. Guess the issue of viewing angles is overblown afterall.

I think the question should be do you care about people seeing your phone from a certain angle/distance. For me, it's ok for people to see what I'm doing with my phone except when it comes to an extent that they'll be seeing my password or bank account.

They are just curious to know which smartphone are we using, but bad viewing angles are too annoying when the sun or light is shining at the screen. So, I choose Yes.

Yes i care. put your smartphone on a table and watch a 2 hour movie alone or with friends. i bet you will find it difficult to answer no to the poll.

Why would you watch a 2 hour movie on such a small screen when 30+inch HD tv can give you a much better experience from the comfort of your sofa, dumbest reason EVER

Because you can't take a 30+HD TV to where ever you want.

Its not weird, its actually cool that technology offers such possibilities. Except for the smaller screen it offers the same quality.

When technology offers such possibilities screen size isn't a concern for most of the people. But with a smartphone in hand you can watch at anytime.

And as you watch it do you do it with your phone tilted in angle?

I too watch some TV shows on my Smartphone, and when I want to share I just plug the HDMI cable... But when I do it I watch it straight. No need to watch from an extreme angle

I cant take my 55inch TV with me to work. The bus ride to and from work....Netflix gets a work out at times. For that, viewing angles play a role.
