Did the LG Optimus G2 go through the GLBenchmark site?
0. phoneArena 29 Mar 2013, 13:14 posted on
A mysterious phone has been put through GLBenchmarks packing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and Android 4.2.2; the device has a model number of LG-D801 and by all indications, it seems like this could be the LG Optimus G2 which is expected to be introduced at the IFA in Berlin and then launched sometime later this fall...

Thats about the right time for that kind of specs to be released on a phone. Sounds like it has potential except I am sure it wont be the only one with that hardware out when it is

Lg won't have the fastest phone this is leaked other phones are going to have the snapdragon 800

It's an LG phone and it's faster than Ipad 4 but Ipad still smoke the LG cause of quad core GPU. LG shows the benchmark to show Samsung we still can smoke you even with octa core.

iPad 4 is a big 9.7 "inch tablet. That chip will never be in a phone Because its too big, too hot and drains battery.
A truck or a car, you can see the difference?
The cores in iPad 4 and iPhone 5 is not faster then Snapdragon 600 or OCTA's Crotex A15 cores even if it would have 4 cores, but now it does not have 4 cores so you can dream on.

I was thinking that as well. For example, the Note III with Sammy's octacore Exynos will be approaching release around that time. I wonder how the octacore Exynos compares to the S800.

Is the Snapdragon 800 a full A15 or still Krait based architecture?????
I know the 600 is still Krait based, which is why the Exynos 5 series will dominate it (not because of the dual 4 cores)..
Either way, will be interesting to see which mobile CPU remains on top by the end of this year.

Sadly LG can have the fastest phone of 2013 and they still will not be big. Samsung claimed the Android throne in 2011 with the Galaxy S II and have continued to grow since then.
Sad because LG's Optimus G series is very nice.

Actually, Samsung claimed the Android throne in 2010 with the GS1 along with HTC with the Evo 4G.

The Prada phone has a claim to fame... I thought that was LG built? If not that then at least the Chocolate and EnV phones were pretty big in their day too.
Of course, those are all pretty dated and limited devices by today's standards. And that's a shame that haven't found much notoriety elsewhere because the LG Optimus (at least the Optimus G-series) is one pretty damn sweet phone.

Samdung? I can't think what you're doing on PhoneArena if you think LG will surpass Samsung, don't you read news about Samsung?
I think you don't know Samsung enough, do some research..

You know what? Last year Optimus G, One X and GSIII were announced almost at the same time and were almost priced same. LG Optimus G had the best benchmark and it also got 2gigs of ram but their lacking in updates ruined that phone. I wish they will fix this problem!

I have no idea where you got your information from but optimus g was announced in october which makes it almost half year newer than SGS 3. One X and SGS3 were announced at almost the exact time but not Optimus G. Optimus G = september. SGS3 = May. And as far as I know LG sold over 1 million units, I know that it is not 20 million like SGS3 but it is something. As I yesterday tried some phones in a store, I also tried Optimus G. And it is very good as far as I am concerned. With its apq8064 it sure isn´t lacking for power, the UI was as fluid as on the SGS3. But there is one thing that I love with LG and that is that they are trying to make the bezels as small as possible so the Optimus G feeled very small in comparison to SGS3. All I can do is to wish LG the very best for their smartphones are very good, not best but they should sell much more than they are right now.

I'm on sprint and can tell you the optimus g received 4.1.2 before at&T's one x got jellybean and also got the update almost the same day as the s3. I was skeptical too but the phone is great and possibly the best on the carrier. I'm not sure about the at&t version's updates but the sprint version is currently on par with other flagships on updates. I would say lack of advertising may have led to the phone's lack of sales as the commercials were on heavy rotation the first two weeks the phone was out and were gone after that.

Atleast optimus UI is not cartoonish.

Samdunk? You mean samsung...not this again bro . LG phones are great, but I seriously doubt they will surpass Samsung. But who knows .

You are still in doubt?

Peopele generally do not prefer Lg phones because of lack of updates.

Even the exynos octa won't be able to compete with this in terms of GPU performance. I wonder how it performs in CPU, though. Qualcom Has really gotten quite good lately. I remember the first snapdragons were really bad. I can't believe the s800 beat the ipad 4.
26. Pedro0x (Posts: 271; Member since: 19 Oct 2012)
Well Qualcomm makes new technologies all the time, for example adreno 225 then 320 and now 330, but what Apple does to the Ipad is that they just add more GPU cores to it, the GPU that Ipad uses uses old techlogies, yes it has power but it for example doesn´t support opengl 3.0 or Directx 11. And it is over 2 years old, yes the GPU in Ipad 4 is from 2010 and yet it is one of the most powerful GPU for now. The next gen of SGX GPU should be more powerful than snapdragon 800 by a great margin, but that is just in theory.
But as you can see Ipad 4 has only 1% lower score in glbenchmark 2.5 than Snapdragon 800 and has 1.1 million more pixels to push so that is a clear win for the Ipad but when you look on the glbenchmark 2.7, Ipad has much lower score than Snapdragon 800 so that is because Ipad doesn´t support the new technology very well.
So what I am saying is that Snapdragon 800 will be a badass.
If I got anything wrong in my comment, please go ahead and enlighten :)

Hm, I loved the Optimus G hardware when it came out. I might get this over the GS4 if they release it soon enough.

How's tthat stand up against Samsung's Octo core chip? Can't seem to find any GLBenchmarks for it.

...remember back when everyone thought the htc hd 2 was an abnormally large screened phone?
