0. phoneArena 19 Aug 2013, 03:11 posted on

A member of Sony's board, Kurozumi Yoshiro, is involved in the planning of Xperia devices; Yoshiro told a Japanese business publication on Monday that while it is impossible to meet the demands for every device user, Sony is going to concentrate on certain screen-sizes. The Japanese OEM will release 4 and 5 inch smartphones and 10 inch tablets. The executive adds that these sizes are where the demand is...

i doubt that but i hope it's true. can't go for a lumia when you're a solid android user.

Mini is good idea if specs is same as its bigger brother. I dont think Honami can beat Lumia 1080 since it got smaller lens and no xenon flash but im pretty sure it will bet be the best among android phones.

1020 has horrible, HORRIBLE algorithms. The 5MP images that come out of it are terrible. Very over saturated, grainy, noisy, over processed and that's in daylight!

Add to that bad optics, 1020 excibits blurring on the edges.

If Sony takes Honami's camera seriously and hands it over to their camera department they can pull some magic and beat 1020.

I'm sure 808 PureView will stay the king of cameraphones for a little while longer, but 1020 is full of compromises, it's beatable.

Oh come on....Honami mini, really? As if the SGS4 was a Note 3 mini. Manufacturers, please stop this kind of bullsh**ing and make some real nice device.

Some people need smaller smartphone with top specs. I would prefer 4.3 inch Honami mini over 5 inch ver if specs is same.

I agree here... I had the Galaxy S3 for a while and after I was robbed, I got the Xperia Acro S (4.3") and I prefer 4.3~4.6" screen today... it allows a great form factor for the hand... and the display is still very enjoyable at 720p.

My only problem with Sony designs lately is that the are placing the microUSB port in the same side as the dock connection... so that makes useless the por for MHL, USB OTG, mouse or keyboard while docked...

Actually giving at least 2 size choice for flagship device it is a great way to cover the market.

I for once like the 4.3" display, while one of my best friend like 5" or bigger... since he does not have a notebook but a desktop, and his SGS4 is his portable computer...

I like my 4.3 but also have a compact notebook... and for people who already have a tablet, a 4.3" display makes more sense IMO

All of you got a point there, but if the "mini" versions were high end devics too, like their big brothers, i wouldn't say a damn thing. But they are not (except the One Mini...maybe).

Exactly, thats what being roumored in this article and whats great if Sony makes it true... You sound like you did not read it

We would get a high end device with 4.3" screen.. (the only trade off is a lower ppi, but does not really matter 440 vs 340)

The Honami isn't camera phone like the 1020 or the s4 zoom ..it's normal phone which will compete against s4 and the one etc ...

i think mini version isn't good idea coz people will compare it against s4 mini and lumia 720 !! and they will say its expensive !!!

Honami mini is Iphone 5S competitor and Xperia V/T/TX/SP/ZR is already better than those overpriced mid-range phones.

iPhone 5S is going to have some stiff competition from Xperia Honami Mini. Galaxy S IV Mini and One Mini are way out of the league of Honami Mini by the way.

S IV Mini and One Mini cannot compare to Honami Mini because unlike Samsung and HTC, Sony actually did the right thing and kept(according to rumours) the same hardware, just made the phone smaller, while Samsung and HTC Minis offer worse hardware.

Mini!

In Japan Xperia ZR outsold Xperia Z and Galaxy S4 because tt has smaller screen but still maintain good specs. Sadly Sony didnt distribute this phone worldwide.
