They didn't switch on flash in either the S3 or 4S, the S3 has one of the brightest flashes I have ever seen!
In short, Nokia's new announcements suck... and WP8 looks cluttered

the g3 has one of the brightest flashes you have ever seen??one of maybe but NOT THE BRIGHTEST!!!i have a almost 5 year old nokia N82 the very first phone with a xenon flash and i have put it up against my best friends SGS 3 and my camera takes the most natural looking pics without all the saturation that seems to be some sort of trend among cellphone makers these days mainly IOS and ANDROID and dont even get me started about which one takes the better pic at night because my xenon flash blows away ALL phones that use AN LED OR DOUBLE LED!!enough said. OK I think you're getting me wrong, I'm comparing LED flashes, let's see you use that xenon flash as a torchlight.
So please, accept that Nokia cheated on their shootout, video, and pics ..
Also, I'm not saying that their phones aren't good, but, they cheated on their ads and stuff, which is wrong.
Not surprised though, Microsoft and Nokia have a history of cheating.

This not an isolated incident, Nokia has a track record of exaggeration for quite some time now. Everybody still remembers what Nokia said and did with Lumia 900.

Nokia is in a state of desperation,they've jumped aboard a ship which was half submerged even before they got onboard and is doomed. Wp sales are disasterous and while other manufacturers make their sales and innovations in other fields like android Nokia is chained to Microsoft. When the lamia 800 launched we had exaggerated sales expectations given to us from Nokia reps, despite their claims only a hand full sold

im a nokia fan and i need to say that is fake. if the cellphone needs to flash before take the picture in low light, how in hell behind the girl is so shiny?.
nokia didnt have time to put more MP in lumia 920 (8.7? common), neither to finish the phone.

Not saying that it was taken with the Nokia, but I use a Nikon DSLR and when I take night portraits it uses flash to freeze the subject and uses slow shutter speed to get lots of light from the background, and so giving such type of effect... But then it needs a strong flash to do so and I'm not sure that this mobile has what it takes in that department.

They wanted to showcase OIS mode on the 920, which they didn't.
They may have showed OIS but it wasn't on the 920. Why should people buy the 920? Why not get the same product that did showcase OIS? Are the not the same? Is OIS on the 920 butchered down or something?

Don't be so quick to dismiss something just because you don't like what you are hearing. The photo in the link you provided was taken with flash off on all 3 phones apparently but while the other two phones didn't use flash at all, the 920 turned on its flash to focus but I believe it was also sampling photos in the process which is why the final image is so bright, particular in the middle, which is just how a photo would look when using LED flash.

The moment I saw light I said the same thing the guy said in the video.

"HDR works by combining a few images into one, usually two or three photos will be used and sometimes more. It works by combining images with different exposure values, and then uses the correctly exposed portion will be combined into the final image."
This is the same concept as Apple's "retina display", another marketing term for Nokia.

This whole announcement seemed like it was snake-bit. From all the tech errors with the screen, the disappointment there wasn't more about WP 8, Ballmer mispronouncing Nokia's name about three times (Nawk-eea??), and then having to eat a little pride about the "girl on the bike" video, I am sure this is an event they wish they could have back.

Lost in the hoopla were some really good devices with what may be the best camera tech, an exciting and fun new version of a seamless OS, and just a dozen other strengths to help it along.

When Apple announced the iPhone 4S, they were straight with the claims for the camera of the 4S - they published actual photos and videos taken with a 4S. Nokia couldn't meet the same standard and is getting slammed for it. President Harry Truman had a saying (I am paraphrasing slightly) - can't stand the heat? Then get out of the kitchen!

Nokia needs to decide whether it wants to play in today's smartphone business. If the answer is yes, then they need to bring their A game.
