Im a hardcore VZW fan, but i personally think (and so does consumer reports and jd power) that TMO isnt that bad a carrier. They are ranked 3rd behind VZW Alltel. Anything Sprint can do to help its struggling business is a positive thing.

Oh Please Grow Up! Sprint and T-mobile have always been the underdogs when it comes to U.S wireless service, so a merger would make sense. Verzion might be the best when it comes to coverage, but with a recovering company consumers like thier options, and their wallets are the most important thing to them right now, not the coverage they get in the middle of no where. My Tmobile works perfectly fine in any major city and the likely hood of me visiting some small town in the middle of no where is very low. In the 3 years I have had Tmobile I have not had one dropped call, and coming from Sprint which I had before I must say Sprint wasn't bad either the only reason I made the switch was because Tmo had a better selection of phones at the time! Verzion is so overratted and I know this becaused I worked for them! And yet when I worked for them I still kept my T-mobile service. MyFaves is still a better deal then their lame attempt at "Friends and Family" and I know this because I work for T-Mobile now and it gives me so much joy to switch people over from Verizon everyday. Suck it up, with Sprints 49 million subs and T-Mobiles 32 they will surely match Verizon's current 80 million subs and with the value T-mobile offers and Sprints 4G, someone just might give Overratted Verizon a run for their money!

to be honest this may be interesting. since WiMax and LTE are both compatible on the same hardware, we could be looking at the first, best, and most widely available 4G network in the future. also, sprint and t-mobile coverage isn't that bad... although i personally have verizon, my friends with t-mobile and sprint don't seem to have many problems. sprint and t-mobile are also pretty open in terms of UI and features whereas verizon locks down the UI and features of their phones like no other. on top of that t-mobile and sprint have some of the nicest phone options out there. palm pre, myTouch, HTC Touch Pro2, BB Tour, the upcoming HTC Hero, Motorola Cliq also, sprint and t-mobile don't charge an arm and leg, and your first born child for data and voice service like verizon does.

hmm...I think this is a good idea. T-Mobile is a good company...in New England anyway....and Sprint kinda sucks, so think, VZW is 5*, T-mobile is 4*, Att is 3*, sprint is 2*, if we combine the two, do we get a 6* cell phone company?

i really hope this doesnt happen, sprint is really starting to make some good changes with hesse. and after being with shitty at&t and overrated vzw i'm loving sprints service and value. i dont care what anyone says sprint has been great for me in the year i have had them. the only carrier who has service where i work. i would rather not have a cell phone then go back to vzw or at&t.

Your own link states the same as this article....that the company that owns TMO is offering to buy SPRINT. Shows your ignorance when you post things like this.

I dont think thats as important as http://www.forbes.com/2009/06/29/vodafone-tmobile-wireless-markets-equity-telecoms.html that would make Vodafone own t mobile Verizon and sprint and they do have the money to do it
