If the name Sonny Dickson sounds familiar to you, it is because the young Australian captured everyone's attention last year, by working out deals that enabled him to receive parts from the Apple iPhone 5s and Apple iPhone 5c well before either phone was officially launched in September. Last year, Dickson told Reuters that he had a number of sources that buy parts from factory workers for $250 to $500...

Lets wait whether this is really the actual design. All we know so far is, that Samsung wants to implement some design changes. I hope they will. I dislike these drawings.

I am pretty sure the 5.2" is pretty accurate. The display cannot exceed 5.3" cos thats the note 1 size.

same design boring ugly. samsung will never change. samsung advice for you, you need to hire new design team.

You just don't get it, do you? It's not about the looks, it's about the branding. Ppl. know the taste of Red Bull (tastes crap), and choose it over a different crappy drink, cause they are used to RB's crap.
Samsung went for the bold rounded design to differentiate, to be unlike an iPhone, a BB or your typical high-end phone - and ppl. started to recognize it and buy the crap out of it.
Yo momma sees an HTC One: "oh what a nice looking phone!"
Yo momma sees a Galaxy S4 "oh look, a Samsung Galaxy!"
Business 101 ;-)

red bull crap ????? wow I love its taste
63. _Bone_ (Posts: 2071; Member since: 29 Oct 2012)
Of course you do, cause your brain associated that awful artificial taste with the drugs-like refreshing effect. Classic Pavlov conditioning. And it works in the market too, which is why Apple and Samsung designs stay the same.

So you think your lumia is any different than the other lumia?? The xperia z1 is any different than the z or z1 compact except size?? Samsung phone is one of the most ergonomic and comfortable to hold.. why should they change it?? It's allright if they change the material.. but for design i think it still the Most preferable for comfort.. please grow up..
19. LiyanaBG (Posts: 288; Member since: 07 Nov 2013)
samsung really is not good in design. at lease the others do decent design they change it little
23. neops (Posts: 126; Member since: 28 Jan 2014)
Someone would hope they have gone this way based on
their patent prints: http://tinyurl.com/nunkmsq
Maybe for S6
38. mr.techdude (Posts: 496; Member since: 19 Nov 2012)
Your tots right maccess, I like the way the galaxy s4 looks but it's buil quality is sooooo bad it gives an image in your brain that it's an ugly phone.
39. maccess (Posts: 479; Member since: 16 Jan 2013)
That's exactly what i mean.. i actually using an htc one right now.. i like the material and the built quality of the phone a lot.. but i wasnt very fond about the design.. for example the power button is a pain in the a** to reach for single handed use and the lack of removable battery is no good for the below average battery life this phone has..
41. akki20892 (Posts: 2701; Member since: 04 Feb 2013)
Every lumias have different design. Get your glasses see the real world don't be child dude. And listen, Nokia use n9 design for high end lumias and there is little difference between all high end lumias.
I tell u what. Check All ashas, 505, 510, 520, 610, 620, 710, 720, 810, 820, 822, 920, 1320, 925, 929, And all N-series, E-Series, and all rest of Nokia models. Damn it kid check and tell me which one looks same. You need to grow up. And don't tell me all high end is same design I already told you above.
42. rodneyej1 (Posts: 2881; Member since: 06 Jul 2013)
He's right.. The Lumia 920, 925, 928, and 1520 all are very different.... But, they have a certain Lumiaesk style to them...
It's called evolution.. And, Nokia evolves their design at just the pace... Not to drastically, and not to subtle...
IMO Samsung, and Apple, evolve to slowly.... But, these are great devices, really nice devices though.
46. maccess (Posts: 479; Member since: 16 Jan 2013)
The same with the first galaxy s,s2,s3 and the s4.. the note,note2,note3.. galaxy express, express 2 etc.. they different from each other.. maybe only blind butt hurt kid like you couldn't see the difference.. grow up and get some microscope if glasses can't help you boy...
49. akki20892 (Posts: 2701; Member since: 04 Feb 2013)

51. maccess (Posts: 479; Member since: 16 Jan 2013)
My GOD.. dont say that you cant tell the difference between the s3 and the s4.. if you couldn't than i have nothing to say anymore.. geez..
52. akki20892 (Posts: 2701; Member since: 04 Feb 2013)
Thanks for accepting. I appreciate.
I tell you deference, design is same but shape is different.
56. dratomic (Posts: 338; Member since: 09 Oct 2013)
and only s2 was beautiful. i hated s3 & s4. and loved note 3 because it reminded me of s2
35. rodneyej1 (Posts: 2881; Member since: 06 Jul 2013)
Yes.. Same design... Why won't they evolve it faster.. This is boring. Been boring..
64. SleepingOz (Posts: 2491; Member since: 22 Oct 2011)
Kinda ironic coming from someone who's using a lumia and supporting WP.
66. paulislegend (Posts: 38; Member since: 15 Mar 2012)
i want to smash that phone on the efff'ing ground! I don't get why they don't hire some badass industrial designer and knock this bitch out of the park!?!?!?!?! instead its going to be some faux leather crap with the same shape.
18. hurrycanger (Posts: 640; Member since: 01 Dec 2013)
I don't like it, lol.
I hope this is some early draft and not too similar to what the S5 really looks like. XD
30. phljcnth (Posts: 201; Member since: 30 Apr 2012)
I'm not 'buying' this. At least I refuse to believe this is actually the design. Samsung promised Design 3.0 so I think this is just one of the rumors made to elude us. If you will try to notice, there are a bunch of rumors that doesn't completely support each other.
3. doubler86 (Posts: 310; Member since: 26 Jan 2011)
I doubt they would put the speaker on the back. They will probably have the speaker on the bottom like they did with the Note 3
13. g2a5b0e (Posts: 1941; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
I agree. Reverting to the old placement would be backward progress.
5. Killua (Posts: 202; Member since: 25 Nov 2013)
Nah. I'm still looking forward to the new design, well, they did say they would change it.
44. Jayshmay (Posts: 65; Member since: 27 Mar 2011)
Yep, nothing is for sure til they announce it. Personally, the physical aspecs of the S4 don't bother me. But I am looking forward to the battery, display, and processor improvements of the S5.
48. Ant34 (Posts: 193; Member since: 10 Aug 2013)
All the flagship phones are going to have similar specs so design and functionality may be the deciding factor. Samsung's design language is not bad but it's not worthy of being repeated year after year. Samsung is getting to comfortable at the top and it may hurt them. I'm planning on skipping the S5 after having both the S3 and S4.
59. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 5290; Member since: 22 Dec 2010)
More like boring, stale/dated design. I for one, actually like what Nokia has done with the case and screen design of the L1520. If Sammy did a similar effort but used a smaller screen size, that would be refreshing.
Of course, MS probably would sue. I wonder if such a design patent would be covered under the IP license Sammy has with MS? Things get curiouser and curiouser.

Samsung will really Disappoint people if there New Smartphone Looks like This,Is this the reason they announcing this phone before the MWC in Barcelona,an they know if its not Good Enough to Compete with the Others being Announced,We Hope Not
8. jaytai0106 (Posts: 863; Member since: 30 Mar 2011)
Same old boring design, but Samsung is still going to sell millions of units with ease... It's the way it works in the real world... how sad... how sad...
12. tedkord (Posts: 3959; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
Some of us are more concerned with what our phone can do than how it goes with our outfit.
17. g2a5b0e (Posts: 1941; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
I'm in complete agreement, but that being said, I would still be a little disappointed if they didn't give us some kind of semi-radical design change this year. But even still, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Note 4 this year because in the end, like you said, the most important thing to me is what my phone can do, not how it looks.
20. jaytai0106 (Posts: 863; Member since: 30 Mar 2011)
That's exactly what a lot of people think as well. Me for one, I would like both look and performance. However, I'll still pick performance over look.
However, as for the general public is a whole different story. As an average consumer, the deciding factor on buying a smartphone more than likely is which phone is more popular, which phone they have heard the most. This is why iPhone and Samsung have been selling so well because they were able to gain the general share earlier on and now they can catch that wave and just ride along. I'm not saying that those phones aren't top tier but in fact they are great phones. However, other phones that is equivalent or better would less likely be consider by the average consumer because simply it is unfamiliar to him/her.
It is a very cold, sad truth
11. Klamba92 (Posts: 178; Member since: 25 Jun 2012)
So it looks like on screen keys are not going to be on the s5 as I expected. As Sammy would not just get rid of something they have been working so hard to get on every device Including their tablets! However if they embraced it they should get less lawsuits from apple saying that the home button is copied off the iPhone for example.
15. cornerofthemoon (Posts: 487; Member since: 20 Apr 2010)
The G5 will most likely be a small version of the Galaxy Note 3 complete with faux leather backing. That seems to be the Sammy design language these days.
21. Klamba92 (Posts: 178; Member since: 25 Jun 2012)
Yh I have a feeling they are going to use faux leather I mean they even have GS4 faux leather variants. While it is nice and makes sense for the note series I would prefer if they use plastic for GS5. I would want it to be soft touch like the nexus 5,7 and 10 or lumia 920!
24. g2a5b0e (Posts: 1941; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
I have to disagree. The S line has never followed the Note line in terms of design. I don't see why they would start now. Even if it has the faux leather back, I bet they'll do a redesign on the front.
31. Klamba92 (Posts: 178; Member since: 25 Jun 2012)
What do you think they will do as a redesign from the front because other than the buttons and the screen part from placement on the camera and LED light. They could add the front facing speakers like on the original galaxy note 10.1, nexus 10 and even galaxy player 5.8 but apart from that what else could they add?
33. g2a5b0e (Posts: 1941; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
There are an unlimited number of things they COULD do. I really don't have much in the way of speculation as to what they will do. I don't think these pictures necessarily mean that we will see the traditional button setup we've seen for the last few years though. However, I highly doubt we will see front-facing speakers from Samsung anytime soon.
29. GeekMovement (Posts: 1497; Member since: 09 Sep 2011)
WEAKEN. Seriously? If this is the design of the S5 (which I doubt and hoping it's not), then they totally failed in the design department. It looks pretty similar to the S4.
32. Kishin (Posts: 548; Member since: 30 May 2013)
Very GS4 like. Thats not a bad thing if it comes in metal like the iPhone.
45. XperiaFanZone (Posts: 855; Member since: 21 Sep 2012)
You people can't even read the title and quickly jump to conclusions smh.
47. fzacek (Posts: 296; Member since: 26 Jan 2014)
I would still go with the S4 because there is no real improvement that can be made on it...
50. johnehms09 (Posts: 47; Member since: 17 Jan 2014)
Since its water resistant its going to be huge in size.. Just get a water proof digicam rather than Suffer to its bezels all the time..
53. Nabil2511 (Posts: 124; Member since: 27 Jan 2014)
so erm its the S4 with metal back...soooooooooooo innovative.. NOTTTT!
55. a_tumiwa (Posts: 158; Member since: 16 Mar 2012)
oh no same design again..., sammy walk the same path with Apple, always use similar design for their new generation phone , and i dont like it . i feel that HTC one is the most innovative design so far
