I like the ability to have widgets turned off on home screen but wouldn't it be more functional if the widgets are transparent when off? Also, the widgets take up too much space leaving you to use more screens than usual.

If the history of RIM's fail is ever written, the root cause will be the company's obsession with handsets. RIM had a nice (really nice) business around its e-mail and messaging service. If they had ported the two services to other OSs (like iOS, Android and WP) their future would be a lot more certain than it presently is.

But the writing is on the wall and customers are looking for alternatives. Their largest customer (the U.S. govt) has already started a project with Boeing (that was reported on PA a while back) to move to a secure Android environment that BCS is developing. Friends that work in some of the largest companies in Silicon Valley that are still using BBs for the messaging security are all working on migration projects, with the objective of moving the company off of BB/RIM in the next 12 to 18 months.

Android and iOS will swallow entire smartphone market...WP will continue to have single digit market share and rest will disappear...just a thought!

Release date please. Only the most loyal blackberry fans care at this point. They should have put a couple blackberry 7 phones on prepaid. Something to keep your name out there. Give them away for free on contract. Anything. There time is past here in the USA.

I just noticed something, look at the internet icon in the bottom tray. Did they finally make it so you can re-name your app shortcuts in this software or did they make a huge mistake?

As a side note, I'd love to see BBX be something that could possibly save RIM, but I honestly don't know if I see that happening. It's kinda sad they didn't evolve until they were so close to death.
