Delta Airlines to upgrade to the Nokia Lumia 1520 from an older model

Delta Airlines is upgrading to a new fleet of wide body equipment. No, Delta isn't taking a delivery of new jets, but is taking a delivery of new smartphones. The Atlanta based airline (another type of carrier than the kind we are used to writing about) is upgrading its fleet of smartphones from the Nokia Lumia 820 to the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet...

lol calm down. Good to see these airlines finally getting modernized in their administrative methods. Hopefully this also has a positive effect for consumers as well.

As much as I want Nokia to succeed, they'll never rise above Apple or Samsung.
26. rodneyej1 (Posts: 3576; Member since: 06 Jul 2013)
That's the same kind of naive comments that some less insightful people said about Apple in the 90's... Are you serious?... We never know what the future might hold for the mobile market... Never is a pretty definite word..

I get that Nokia is still out there, but for the past two quarters, they've been declining if I'm not mistaken.
39. rodneyej1 (Posts: 3576; Member since: 06 Jul 2013)
Like I said, that's short sighted.. It could take years, if it would ever happen, but times change.. Asus could be the next Samsung, Panasonic might be the next Apple... You never know,, but this is the most naive way to think.... The past two quarters???.... Lol!. That doesn't define a companies long term future... Look at Motorola!

Don't fly high, everyday everyone's day come, you don't know future and you can't predict future.
I'm guessing Nokia will rise. Just remember last 15 years of Nokia. Did you even think what company will come take Nokia place.
Keep your attitude with you, because Your comment is telling us.

Exactly, when they release Android without MS.
40. rodneyej1 (Posts: 3576; Member since: 06 Jul 2013)
Lol!.. Yeah, but see the point is that in the future people might find Android repulsive, and WP cool.. We never know.. There could be something totally new come around.. Heck smartphones might be a thing of the past by 2020.. Think further by looking at the past...

Windows Phone has a lot of work ahead. They need to become a lot more customizable with less restrictions...and giving consumers the ability to remove the UI ( that looks like it was designed by a 5th grader armed with just one crayon ) would be a good start. Ms at this point only has Nokia's good hardware and their ambitious project Cortana to fall back on. Personally I hope WP does well especially their Cortana project...knocking apple down a peg or 2 will be doing everyone some much needed justice.

I agree with everything you said, except the comment about the WP interface.. That's subjective, and it's already proven to be the OS look to copy.. But, as long as you admit that that's just your opinion, and understand that it's not fact, and the opinion of everyone's,, then I can dig it.. WP can't please everyone... Let's not forget that WP8 as a OS is very, very good, and enough OS for at least the average consumer, and then some. Anyone who thinks that WP8 doesn't have enough features is NOT the average user... But, then again that's just my opinion, and a pretty good one because I use WP heavily every single day... I would say that my viewpoint about it is more valuable than someone who doesn't use it everyday..... That should be considered a fact though..

Very good and well thought out comment. But can you please direct me to where it says that the plain and un-customizable look of said interface is the one to copy? Out of everything out there it has to be the simplest and the most visually un-appealing interface one could possibly create.

Very smart choice, and a fine phone indeed!!! They also need to make sure that these attendance are using the greatest, and most latest WP8.1....
Hey, I work at the airport and many passengers, who most likely have a iDroid device in their pockets, have relied on the old 1520 to get to their flights on time.. I guess WP is the best OS for getting real life things done... Sorry, folks.. No Flappy Bird here... Lol!!!!
7. rodneyej1 (Posts: 3576; Member since: 06 Jul 2013)
And, let me add that the more I work with the 1520's camera the better, and better, pictures this thing takes... This camera is very, very, very good!. It has to be in the top five camera list.. The post processing can throw you off a bit, but you have to trust it.. And, its that post processing that evens out when you use Lumias crop, and recrop feature.. I never thought I would use that feature so much, and I guess it's because it's sucked so bad on most other devices, except the 1020, that I never found it practical... But, the lossless zooming is superb on the 1520, only second to the 1020 I bet..
Ever since I got my 920 all of my iDroid friends have made me take all of the important group pictures.. Facebook post don't lie, and it's obviously clear to see that they noticed my pictures were superior... Now, my 1520 blows my 1520 out of the water in imaging, so the trend continues unmatched..
Audio capturing during shooting videos is by far the best of any smartphone on the market.. This thing has 4 directional/ no directional Rich Recording High Amplitude Audio Capture mics... Wow Nokia--- But, with all this greatness,,, video capture sucks, and we need a major update to improve sharpness, and overall quality, but mainly sharpness...

Don't sweat it bud...it's in his nature and others like him. When they suddenly don't have a leg to stand on they typically resort to insults as a last chance at justification for the choices they make.

Really?..... That's a easy assessment for you.. You feel better now?
