Deal of the day: Galaxy Gear's price at Best Buy slashed in half
If you are in the market for a wearable, Best Buy's deal for today might be exactly what you are looking for – the retailer has halved the price of the Samsung Galaxy Gear wearable. Only today, the gadget can be yours for no more or less than $149.99.

However, only select color versions of the Galaxy Gear are included into the promotion – the rose gold, the oatmeal beige, the lime green, and the wild orange. The jet black and the mocha gray versions of the smartwatch are still being sold at their regular price of $299.99.

If the Galaxy Gear does not suit to your liking, why don't you check out our pick of some of the wearables that debuted at CES 2014?

actually they didn't expect much. The first Gear was like a beta test. The 2nd Gear is what they expect to sell a lot of.

not sure if you're aware but the gear is rated to handle direct exposure to water jets. So washing your hands or even taking a shower are probably OK with the gear on. Just don't go swimming.

Just went there and got myself one, for 149 that was a deal you can't miss. Btw, they have the deal running on all colors except for the dark gray one.

It would haven been tempting to just play around with if it was compatible with my Nexus 5. Unfortunately it's not though.

It is compatible, there is a forum on xda where they made it possible for it to run on almost any device running 4.1+
