Just a couple of weeks after lambasting Android users for their "unbelievably high" piracy rate, Madfinger Games has quietly made the iOS version of Dead Trigger free as well...

That was so stupid to thumb down a post saying I will b downloading this tonight. Is it jus because the download will b on an iOS device? Some people need to get over it and get a life.

"We may never fully understand the difference in Madfinger’s response, but the good news is that Dead Trigger is now free for both iOS and Android."
Okay, this is just a guess here...but considering Apple is, has, or plans on suing everything and everyone from Android OEMs, apple farmers, kids, little old ladies, and puppies born with Apple-shaped markings...maybe Madfinger is scared to make any disparaging remarks about the piracy that happens on iOS. Let's be real, it happens on both. And now everyone who didn't already know that, knows it now.

if somebody didnt know that they are retarded, piracy is everywhere and cannot be avoided lol
but hey thanks for reinforcing that "valuable " knowledge

There were a few people who thought this sort of thing that made iOS "better" than Android. And when others pointed the same thing happens on iOS... those same people denied it was even possible because of Apple's closed system. This just confirms what real tech fans already knew and its kinda fun watching those people either change their stories or totally ignore this article altogether.

Umm interesting does it mean piracy is ripe on iOS too? Lil of course mad finger will be careful not to point fingers at Apples os cause we know what Apple do when. Someone does something they don't agree with.

That's exactly what it doesn't mean.
12. taz89 (Posts: 2014; Member since: 03 May 2011)
So what then... They made so much that they giving it away as a good will gesture lol app goes free on Android its piracy, app goes free on iOS its not piracy... It's like people don't want to believe that piracy exists on iOS just like idiots does in everything
15. JessJess (unregistered)
Its now free in iOS because its been made free on Android.
16. taz89 (Posts: 2014; Member since: 03 May 2011)
Okay if you say so... If that was the reason am sure mad finger would have just have said the instead of being coy about it.
19. JessJess (unregistered)
Coy? How so?
Its an app that's gone free. Nothing new. Considering what happened to it on Android (going free) it was inevitable. Just because of the piracy statement and reason for it on Android does not mean the same
20. taz89 (Posts: 2014; Member since: 03 May 2011)
Coy as in they have not given a reason for making it free... It may very well be because the Android app went free but then why not just say that in there statement and why not make it free at the same time.. Just find it wierd that mad finger have not gave a reason were as with the Android app they were happy too.. As with mad finger making the app free due to piracy in the 1st place I call bull anyways.. The app should have been free from the beginning anyways as it's pretty much impossible to complete the game without in app purchases.. Also when they made the app free it was in the 100,0000-500,000 sales range within a week. If it was piracy then why not back it up with stats.. Various android sites have asked for stats from them but they don't want to reply back... I think they just realised that they making more money from in app purchase so it's best to make the app free...anyways that's my personal opinion not saying I am right..like I said I don't disagree with you..just think mad finger could have been more open about there reasons and actually have facts then just some words.

Fair enough :)
Yes I didn't realize about the in-app stuff. I bought it (on iOS) after reading the original article to see what it was like. I soon discovered the extra costs involved when playing. Though the graphics were quite nice. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, Shadow Gun was much much better.
23. taz89 (Posts: 2014; Member since: 03 May 2011)
Never really got into shadow gun... Dead trigger on the other hand I think it's great, can play the game in small burst which I prefer for mobile gaming.. Would happily pay few dollars or in my case few pounds if it was a full game..
24. Whateverman (Posts: 3224; Member since: 17 May 2009)
No, it's free on iOS because they are getting pirated in ios.

Finally a reason why Fandroids and iFans can give each other a high five: through their combined efforts we all have free games!
Actually, this is a sad thing, people. If you want new impressive mobile games each year, please pay.

I really wish there were more free apps for iOS. With the iPhone and ipad's popularity there is plenty of money to be made with ad supported apps, and if they become too annoying...pay to get the ads removed.

Since Madfinger refuses to post any real numbers to reinforce their "piracy" claim, I say their story is complete BS. They just did this to get free publicity for their game to sell in app purchases. Make the game worth buying and people will buy it, plain and simple. I downloaded it and it's your typical same ol' boring zombie game. Glad I didn't waste a buck.

it doesnt mattr..u still gotta pay...freemium game..remember???
25. darkkjedii (Posts: 11866; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
I tried dead trigger on my iPad 3. Man this game is great, and free. U can't beat that.
26. joey_sfb (Posts: 3003; Member since: 29 Mar 2012)
Games use to cost $30 to $99 dollar. Lots of people pirate them. Ok, make sense.
Games now are $0.99 to $10, still people spent time, resource, taking on the risk of malware infection.... to avoid paying.
Let hope jellybean could reduce piracy with their apps encryption feature.
For now, iOS is really a better platform for developer to make money.

Why? iDiots can pay for it, and they'll be dumb enough to pay for it, why make it free?
