Dashboard X tweak for iOS brings Notification Center widgets down to the homescreen
Apple introduced some widgets in the pull-down notification center with iOS 5, but those never made it to the homescreen, like you are used with on Android devices.

A new tweak called Dashboard X aims to remedy this injustice, and provide you with a way to quickly grab some info or interact with apps right from your iPhone or iPad homescreens, without actually having to go and launch them, saving yourself a few taps and swipes.

Besides dragging down the Notification Center widgets to the homescreen, Dashboard X offers you to choose an Activator action, which then overlays the Dashboard screen on top of the interface to show you the currently active widgets, OS X-style, that you can interact with.

The Dashboard X tweak requires a jailbroken iOS device, of course, and is available in the ModMyi repo for $1.99. Have a look at the video below detailing its features.

But wasn't the n900 released in 2009.. android came out a long time before that?

Who copied who again, I forgot....
My iTouch will have to wait its turn for apple to rip off widgets and release them in iOS 6

I am sorry Apple. Too little too late. I'll be getting my SGS3\2 next month anyway.

Oh wait, did I say Apple? My mistake. Apple doesn't even care about such stuff, so ignorant they are in their beliefs..

so you guys whine and complain that apple sucks because they dont have widgets and customizations... but now that something is created, you whine that android did it first and apple is copying smh...haha you guys are tools... for real!

No one is whining, more like exposing the truth. 95% of iPhone users believe that whatever comes out for the iPhone is completely new and revolutionary. Meanwhile for all these years they were making up excuses why widgets are a terrible idea and why they don't want it. Its like every phone feature is either non-existant or a terrible idea until apple approves of it.

Sources please?

11. blazee posted on 10 May 2012, 16:53 3 1

Sources for what? That most of iPhone users are oblivious to other brands? My sources are the people I work w(almost all have iPhones) and people posting comments online on this website and my Facebook. I have been asked plenty of times why don't I upgrade my phone(galaxy nexus) to an iPhone. I proceed to tell them all that it would be a down grade for me, they all look at me like I'm crazy. Every advantage I show them (bigger screen, 4g,widgets, etc)they think is either useless or stupid. Then they proceed to show me siri showing me that they can talk to their phone instead of typing like its some new sci-fi $hi%.

Everyone here needs to get a life and stop trolling on android and apple. Ed, android has had widget long before apple. Who gives a s**t? Both devices are great devices and both have their advantages and disadvantages. I personally prefer an iPhone. If someone else likes an android, I dont stop them and point out all their flaws. It's all opinion. Everyone needs to stop freaking out and keep their ideas to themselves
