is motorola's new blur better than the old one at all? Why do I still see complaints about it?

I really enjoy the blur on the Droid 3. I think that most people that complain about the new blur haven't even used it. My biggest complaint on the Droid 2 was the lag, with the recent update to the new blur, the lag was greatly reduced. With the dual core processor on the Droid 3, lag is a rare occurrence and very limited when it does happen.

yeah it's actually really nice, i even used to be a big GO Launcher guy and after i got my Droid 3 i've kept it stock. you guys that keep bagging on Blur (which it isn't even called anymore) are just so used to disliking Motorola's skins that you don't give it a real chance. it's simpler than Sense and it's not so in your face and that's what i like about it. closest thing to stock you can get other than that 1st Gen Optimus UI.

i'm unfreezing and unrooting right now. i'll get back to you on how it is.

is anyone else having trouble with it? i used Pete's Motorola Root tools to unroot and restore my phone then i'll try to force the update in Settings>About Phone>Software Update and after i download it and go to install it it'll stop close to halfway full in the bar on the Package Installer screen then it'll reboot and say "Software Update Failed!"

Try flashing it? Check XDA for the stock Files and try updating from there

i know i can do that but i don't want to, i can even do it via the software i used to unroot but i want to keep my OTA portals open. i think since it's pretty much back to it's factory settings i'll take it in to Verizon and play dumb and they'll probably fix it or replace it for me if i don't figure it out tonight.

if you flash to a stock version (current or new you get OTA updates anyways) this worked for me on Milestone, defy and Galaxy Ace by using the flash tools (RSD and Odin respectively)

try this maybe

oh, oh, yeah i've tried SBFing it but RSDLite won't see my phone in Fastboot. i think there's a corrupted file or something.
