0. phoneArena 03 Nov 2011, 09:42 posted on
The Czech subsidiary of Telefonica has decided not to offer Apple's iPhone 4S, or any other iPhone, for that matter. The spokesperson has cited Apple's business terms to be the main culprit for that decision...

Thats the nature of the beast no one is forcing them to sell a iphone if they dont want to. They dont want too and didnt good for them.

i winder why the iphone on the right is running ios 4.

i was wondering how long it would take for a carrier to get tired of their bully practices. Thats gonna hurt those Q1 2012 sales. lol.
Concidering how badly the iphone was getting trashed in sales next to the SGS2, i wonder if it was even a big deal for them.

Guess my exile is set aswell if we lose Q1 lol. This is good news ;) let Q1 roll around. I doubt Apple cares at this loss.. they will only care when it is say.. VzW or one of the major us carriers dropping them or one of the carriers in Asia where it will reflect huge losses.

Its amazing how many people are willing to bet that samsung will win, but how FEW of the iTrolls are willing to actually take that bet.. yea im lookin right at you miz and gallito. panzies.. stand behind your product.. lol.

I won't speak as a fanboy since I love all devices equally, and don't even own an iphone(I actually have a Samsung focus:-D)....but as a betting man I'll bet you that the sgs2 will not beat the iPhone 4s in global sales. Lets say for next quarter. That way both will have a full quarter and an equal timeframe and equal economical challenges. The terms? Global quarterly sales of the devices. The reward? Well since neither of us are apple fanboys, it can be bragging rights. That one was correct over the other. Whadya say?
29. remixfa (Posts: 14074; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
you realize that the SGS2 launched in like May in every other country except the US right? lol. And its still one of the top sellers in the world.
41. clevername (Posts: 1431; Member since: 11 Jul 2008)
Oh I know. That's why I said sales for next quarter. Don't think this is a challenge from a fanboy. The sgs2 is the first real android beast in sales. That sells close to an iPhone level. I think it still has the juice to take the iPhone on in sales...i also think the iPhone will outsell it. Just numbers is all. I'm not talking about specs or os. Just units moved.

haha i would loce to see att or verizon drop the iphone… u know how may people ould get pissed off and go to whatever carier has it? and that is completely valid because look at att… this is the first carrier in 4 years… is it that shocking?

It won't make big difference whether they have iPhone or not in their portfolio. In Czech republic people are not so obsessed with iPhones.
6. darth8ball (Posts: 519; Member since: 02 Aug 2011)
aside from the money Apple commands, if you go to any carriers site the iPhone is placed at the top spot when searching for phones. Bullies is what they are.

Indeed Apple like to eat people whole and spit out the bones
14. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
They're aren't forcing anyone to do business with them.

Such is the nature of Apple eternal grees and control lust that many network carriers are no doubt feeling the same. Apple wants control of the carriers next.
This all is ironic as most networks carriers have been put under sever pressure over the last year with customer complaints from iphones dropping calls and out of one year warranty repairs despite two year contracts

AMERICAN Carriers need to follow also...MSRP on a 3 year old upgraded phone(iphone4s) is $649.00. Has a $170 from cradle to grave price....Go figure...and the carriers never reduce the price until a new model comes out...Go figure....Apple definately has a crowd that follows....

And still outsells all your crappy android phones.
17. Retro-touch (Posts: 264; Member since: 24 Oct 2011)
Did you just say ALL android phones or you simply don't realize how foolish that statement really is? I'll assume your an iTard and ignore your brainwashed delusions

What android phone outsells the iPhone? NONE. Number 1 selling smartphone this year is iPhone 4. Number 2 is 3GS.
30. andro. (Posts: 1971; Member since: 16 Sep 2011)
Poor old taco using the what individual android phone outsells the iphone islave arguement
android has a huge selection of phones to every individuals tastes or requirements. The plain fact is that android is totally surpassing ios sales, and the reason that one particular phone doesn't outsell the iphone is that with so many top choices the peoples android purchases are spread across a wide range of top models.
If you take the number of people who choose android together whether they be galaxy s2,htc sensation, sony arc buyers etc vs the iphone, apple is sorely losing.
If you put 100 mentally aware people in one room with 10 choices of top android phones they will all select different models to suit their personality.
Put 100 idiots in another and they will select the one sole faulty iphone model available to them in that room and their teenage brains won't know any different no matter how faulty the phone actually is. Sure the iphone was picked more than any of the top android ones but but thats coz the dumb 100 have no other choice with apple.
ironically i real life its 200 or 300 people going into the android room vs the 100 idiots in apples
31. darth8ball (Posts: 519; Member since: 02 Aug 2011)
I agree andro, with only one phone (iPhone) compared to many other choices (Android) there is not an accurate comprison.
Now if the iPhone was still exclusive to AT&T you could compare that sales number with the number one selling Android phone on Verizon.
Since that point is moot then the data is corrupted.
37. remixfa (Posts: 14074; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
what taco continually fails to realize is that the bulk of apple's sales come in the first few months. yea, its a perennial good seller, but its not top dog every month. In europe, the top phone has been the SGS2 since its launch. Some reports had it outselling the iphone4 by 200%+ in certain countries. That wasnt just 1 month.. that was every month since it launched in the spring until now and beyond.
Thats one phone.. not beating the iphone.. but trashing it.
25. iamcc (Posts: 1319; Member since: 07 Oct 2011)
So what you meant to say was that it sells more than any individual "crappy" Android phone.
I'm pretty sure the iPhone does not outsell "all the crappy Android phones".
If everyone who bought Android had to buy a single model it would probably outsell the iPhone, lucky for us we have options.

lol last i heard android was out selling is**t 3-1

Its about time a carrier realized that iPhones are just not worth the money. I guess they might make decent coasters once everyone who owns one comes to reality that what they own is a piece of outdated garbage!! LOL
11. DROIDX0430 (Posts: 412; Member since: 24 Nov 2010)
yeah, I sent VW corporate a message and told them to stop having the (order iphone4s) icon listed under all of my devices on MY Verizon.com. If I would have wanted a iphone, I would buy a iphone--so I shouldn't be reminded everytime I log into My Verizon.com and see the reminder..Guess what..It's off of my log-in now...
40. roscuthiii (Posts: 1863; Member since: 18 Jul 2010)
Noticed the same thing. Been with Verizon a few years now and have had a few feature phones, and a couple of HTC Android phones... yet when I sign in to Verizon their suggestion for me is to upgrade to an iPhone 4S.
13. fullstrength (Posts: 2; Member since: 31 Aug 2011)
I think all carrier should just drop the iphone. Android is dominating anyway.
16. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
I predict this carrier gets smashed with churn as unhappy customers start switching to get an iPhone.
Non techies who don't know anything about phones may stick around and get androids. "oh this is just like the iPhone right?"
18. bbblader (Posts: 581; Member since: 24 Oct 2011)
taco you are too inlove with Ijoke
thy have been brainwashed
iphone's are bought by little 10year olds that dont know a siht about phones also i asked a friend
what is android?
what is ios?
is that some kind of food?
hmm the android part was closer
21. AKm007 (Posts: 108; Member since: 06 Sep 2011)
I think it's the other way around....the only people who'd buy it are fanboys like you and people who are technologically handicapped. Any sane person with knowledge in tech would know that android is where the future lies.
32. darth8ball (Posts: 519; Member since: 02 Aug 2011)
Agreed, non techies buy the Apple so they don't have to worry about things like customization, or choice. They buy and use what it is Apple feeds them. They don't know any better.
Go to the deepest jungles of South America or the South Pacific and talk to people who live the same way they did a couple hundred years ago. They don't know what they are missing so they don't miss it. That describes the Apple customer perfectly
26. iamcc (Posts: 1319; Member since: 07 Oct 2011)
Non techies? That's probably the most popular market for the iPhone...

I doubt any US carrier will have the stones to bypass on Apple products. Probably not, considering Sprint bet the farm just to carry the damn thing.
22. Sniggly (Posts: 7177; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
What iFans probably don't realize is that the Czech carrier probably ran the numbers and concluded whatever they earn from the iPhone being in their lineup is not outweighed by the cost.
The only other thing I'm going to say is that I totally called it. This article confirms what I've said: Apple is an asshole to its business partners. It will remain to be seen what the consequences are, and what Apple does differently, but the fact remains that I called it, and some of you told me I was dead wrong. It's good to be vindicated. :)
35. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
You called it? Companies are begging to do business with Apple. Sprint just bet the farm.
36. Sniggly (Posts: 7177; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
I called that Apple is being as abusive as possible in its business relationships and giving the shaft to its business partners wherever possible. This company dropping the iPhone like a bad habit is proof of that.
24. downphoenix (Posts: 2378; Member since: 19 Jun 2010)
Im really proud of this carrier. Sprint, my carrier, is the new definition of desperate in the dictionary on the other hand.
27. MorePhonesThanNeeded (Posts: 645; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
In the coming years we shall see if Apple can maintain it's hold as phones with Android are coming out at such a fast pace and they are armed to the teeth with specs and with the all encompassing ICS ready to bring the Android structure to one that mimics apples IOs one can only see that will have a difficult time ahead of them. Android is no longer going to be a spastic mess of phones littering the charts. Once they start becoming uniform then the real race will be on. I welcome the battle as I want to the that will interest me the most, that's why i like when companies have different looks to phones and interesting features.

iphone 5s comes with a new service "i greedy"
.. its gonna show you how you can screw anyone who is trying to innovate, doing better and how you can make this world a greedy place to live
