CyanogenMod teases the first Android Jelly Bean CM10 running on the LG Optimus 4X HD (video)

0. phoneArena posted on 13 Jul 2012, 06:36

Not everything is working, as is usually the case with these early builds, and CM10 is having troubles with all the embedded updates to the Google Search app in Jelly Bean, but such a functional ROM so soon after the source code release makes us optimistic that all major devices will be getting JB via CM10 way before their official Android 4.1 updates...

It's great to see LG's flagship getting some attention from developers. I might actually consider getting one since a lot of tech blogs praised it for being a good phone.

Good progress from Cyanogen team. I'll wait for CM10 for S3.

Can't wait to see it fully functional. Just don't know if I'll have to leave my epic touch to get cm10

CM10 probly runs better then the software LG shipped it with.

CyanogenMod was made for performance, why wouldn't it be?

"Thus seeing Android Jelly Bean running on LG's Optimus 4X HD flagship first, before any other top handset but Google's own Galaxy Nexus..."

First of all, I'm very happy to see CyanogenMod 10 on any device, and it looks to be a pretty good build for such a short development time. However, the LG Optimus 4X HD is hardly the first flagship Android device, aside from the Galaxy Nexus, to receive Jelly Bean. There are Jelly Bean ports available for the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III, but they are ports pulled from the GSM Galaxy Nexus that was shown at Google I/O, not fully AOSP-based ROMs. That being said, the Optimus 4X HD is the first device to leak with CyanogenMod 10, which is an AOSP-based build of Android 4.1. I'm looking forward to CyanogenMod 10 to hit other devices, and I hope they support the Galaxy S III Developer Edition for Verizon.
