I always tell people community>corporations
like the Nokia N900, even though Nokia officially stopped the updates, community SSU is available with periodic updates
even though I am not an Android fan, but I tip my hat to CyanogenMod community

community > corporations, but official support > unofficial support.
Prime example would obviously be Cydia, where there are a lot of really cool tweaks, skins, and such, but the availability of things like widgets - though they do exist - is severely limited by Apple's stupidity not to make them part of the OS.

they dont include customs because in the end... they will integrate it in the true OS and claim that they invented it. just like the notifications bar in iOS 5

Yeah... guess you're right. Why invest cash in actual innovation when you can just hire talented people, and claim their hard work as your own..
Seriously anyone who thinks Apple invented anything in the software department is either misinformed or an iSheep.
Even Mac OX is stealing from Linux lol..

The guys on CM have done a great job, I'm actually bothered that I waited to put it on my Captivate, and have Serendipity longer. CM7 is THE best thing you can do for your android device, if it's available for it that is, and if it happens to be, DO IT!

Does anyone know how to put it on the Droid Incredible

this doesn't include ports.... there's no way to count how many times a port has been installed. there's easily 25 people using just the rom that i am on my HTC Droid Eris. and there's about 5 popular roms for the eris that are just ports of CM. i'm sure the number is much higher.
