Customers who pre-ordered the BlackBerry Priv are getting a free case and car charger
Released today in the US and Canada, the BlackBerry Priv is a unique smartphone, not just because it's BlackBerry's first Android-based handset ever, but also because it's the world's first to feature a dual-curve display and a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

While you can currently buy the Priv from AT&T in the US, and from Telus in Canada, pre-orders for the handset have been available via BlackBerry's website since October. However, folks who pre-ordered the Priv haven't received it earlier than those who are only now buying it. More exactly, BlackBerry informed customers that shipments are just now starting, so it might take a few days before the device actually arrives to doorsteps. The good news is that BlackBerry is giving a free slide-out hard shell case (valued at $39.99), plus a "premium in-vehicle charger" to all those who've pre-ordered the Priv. These gifts won't be sent at the same time with the smartphone. Instead, "you will receive an email detailing how to redeem these accessories."

Besides AT&T, Verizon is also getting ready to release the BlackBerry Priv, though no release date was given. Currently running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, the Priv will be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow sometime next year.
