Customers already lining up for iPhone 5S, obviously have no jobs, sense of time

If you follow the news at all - and we're not even talking about the tech media specifically - if you follow the news at all, you will have heard by now that Apple is going to hold an event this coming Tuesday September 10th, and that event is more than likely going to be to announce the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. There is a fair chance that you will have also heard that...

Your ignorance offends me, the iPhone 4 -> 4s was incremental, the 4s -> 5 was incremental. At least with the S4, Samsung was trying something new, creative and outside the box along with the updated hardware. I.e. Air view, air gesture, smart stay, smart scroll, group play, etc. things of that nature. I don't consider adding panorama camera an innovation especially when so many other devices before had it. I don't own a S4 but dissing on it just made you look silly and like a fanboy. I actually have a HTC One and a nexus 4 as my backup. I've also owned all the iphones up to the 4s and I think they're great devices in their own respect but I wouldn't go dissing on a device without justifying it.

I tried the s4, great phone but I prefer the iPhone to it. I also have the note 2, prefer it to the s4.

To be honest the S4 was very incremental as well (and I don't count processor and graphics as major because that is a must and on par with everyone else). I had the S3 and traded it in for an S4 (warranty shenanigans with best buy) and it was okay at best as an upgrade. The iPhones are in the same boat. We have owned every iPhone in our family other than the 5 for obvious reasons and they are also guilty of the same crime of being too incremental.
Personally note I only try the truly different phones such as my own padfone infinity now and hopefully never ones coming up.
I do not know why Apple refuses to catch up (other that to make money at the expense of customers). They can probably make a quad core, 2 GB RAM, at least 720p resolution with NFC phone for a marginal amount more (they already have half of that and I hear all that costs about 200 to make). They don't seem to want to make money by increasing customer base and attracting more people with increased value. Instead they seem hell bent on making money by decreasing value aka supposed 5c.

This the line for the eyePhone?
Best Futurama episode, ever!

Agreed. I loved when fry asked why they call it the eyephone.

I loved when the counter person reached through the wall and grabbed one from the huge pile, after telling Fry they were almost out.
And the very end when the 'virus' was activated. Classic Groening humor.

I'm going early Friday morning, with the mrs. Afterwords we gotta go set up the reception hall, and decorate it. I won't get much time with it till Tuesday. ;)

This just seems downright silly. Do they take vacation or something? I've did a few midnight launches (halo, Xbox 360) but never a week or two

I would never wait that long for a product. However, I did wait 14 hours in line or the release of the PS3. It was well worth it as the location I was at had a huge party and demos. There was free stuff and music. A great time. Also, spending that time in line with my friends was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I get the waiting in line. I do not get doing it for two weeks and when there is no extra reason to wait for so long. Nothing could be worth that wait.

Although I agree this is sad. As I consider the iPhone an overpriced product. You must never wish bad on someone.

and these people obviously have no sense it technology nor do they probably know that the iphone is out of the top 12 smartphone list as of Sep 4

IF those people have no jobs how the hell they can even afford too buy a iphone?
58. boosook (Posts: 1429; Member since: 19 Nov 2012)
Don't be fooled… those are probably professional bloggers or owners of tech websites and youtube channels that need to get their hands on the phone as soon as they can: in the days that will follow the release, millions of people will search for revies, hands on, unboxings… being among the first to publish those things means many, many page views. It's simply their job.
But most of them will buy phones just to resell them immediately on ebay for a higher price (many customers will be willing to pay an additional price just to get the phone soon(. It's like getting paid to stand in the queue, and it's a job as well.

If they were professional bloggers they would have the knowledge to know when it is actually being released...

Iphones are not limited right?
I can understand Big Concert tickets or limited products..
But this is just awful especially it would still take some days before the announcement.. Can they make such waiting line a day before?
Obviously paid or ios7 made something for them to uhhhhh!!!

Meh don't be surprised if a lot of those guys in line are either paid to do so are getting by by way of illegal means. No one with a basic or even well paying job can just randomly take off for 2 weeks. This brings me back to guys with $3000 gaming PC's. Those guys put up with living with parents just to have a top notch pc. It's sad really. If you're an average person you can't have both money and time. If you do you're doing something obviously illegal with that time to get money.

He who gets the first one, gets the first one.
After that, all bets are off.

Being on the streets two weeks for a iPhone = ihippies. Hope you take showers.
82. jove39 (Posts: 1824; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
Wow...these people really love iPhone! Hope it doesn't rain there till Sep 10
83. JMartin22 (Posts: 1937; Member since: 30 Apr 2013)
Waiting in line for something that is already obsolete. The irony. I guess one practical perk is the improvement in the camera, hardly worth the yearly $700 upgrade perk. FYI, the S4 featured many significant improvements over the S3.

what if Apple decided to release something else, an accessory, instead of the much rumored 5S/5C? I wouldn't wanna imagine their faces if apple decided to troll them.
86. GeekMovement (Posts: 2155; Member since: 09 Sep 2011)
What losers, and i'd say that to anyone lining up 2 weeks prior to the possible date of release no matter if it's apple, samsung, etc. but it doesn't really happen anywhere except apple because they're such simple minded fans.
Recap from last year:
Question: Why do you want the iPhone5?
Answer: cuz it's kewl, it's white and it's got the silver color and glass and it's got the apple on it. i might buy 2 or 3 phones.

89. Rexperia (Posts: 133; Member since: 28 Sep 2012)

91. lilhart (Posts: 23; Member since: 22 Jan 2013)
Let's not be judgmental, rather being empathetic towards their heightened love for the device I should say - let them have it when money is theirs.
92. piyath (Posts: 168; Member since: 23 Mar 2012)
Just some clueless fan-boys and girls who hope the next iPhone will be better than the current iPhone.. pity.....

Oh. This is just a marketing company which does few pathetic products, like toilet paper, or tooth paste, or what ever. And to keep customers they sometimes add to their product a label "new" or whatever. Can anyone imagine a lining up for a new toilet paper? Well here is your chance to take a look at similar event.
99. dmsrfl (Posts: 44; Member since: 21 Sep 2012)
the best explanation for this type of loser behavior is that Apple is paying these extras to build hype.
101. Topcat488 (Posts: 1394; Member since: 29 Sep 2012)
Hahaha... Apple paying $7.50 to stand in line in front of the Apple Store... Great "Promotion" by Apple... I'm ordering mine online, to be delivered to MY front door, things have changed.
