Cricket to offer 6-inch ZTE Grand X Max for $199 starting Friday
Starting this Friday, Cricket Wireless will offer a 6-inch phablet to its customers for just $199. The ZTE Grand X Max is an example of the value-priced handsets that ZTE has promised to deliver to smartphone buyers in the U.S.  And if you move your number from T-Mobile or MetroPCS, you will receive a $100 bill credit.

The aforementioned 6-inch screen offers a resolution of 720 x 1280, which works out to a pixel density of 245ppi. A quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 CPU is under the hood, with the Adreno 302 GPU crunching graphics. 1GB of RAM is aboard while 8GB of native storage is available. The rear-facing camera weighs in at 8MP and a 1MP front-facing camera will snap your "selfies."  ZTE didn't skimp on the battery, which at 3200mAh should keep the lights on all day. Android 4.4.4 is pre-installed, and at 7.8mm thick, the ZTE Grand X Max is a rather thin handset.

Cricket has gone through some changes since being acquired by AT&T. Right now, the pre-paid carrier is offering unlimited talk, text and 1GB of high-speed data for $40 a month. $50 a month buys you unlimited talk and text plus 3GB of high-speed data, while $60 monthly raises the high-speed data cap to 10GB. Subscribe to Auto Pay and get each plan for $5 cheaper.
